Tyler Coy, 23, was transported to Fisher-Titus Medical Center Tuesday night when his Dodge Neon went off Ohio 61 East and split apart — sending the engine about 100 feet across the road.
Coy’s injuries appeared to be non life-threatening, said state Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Gocksteter.
Coy was outside of the car when police arrived. The trooper said Coy was an occupant in the car, but Gockstetter added he couldn’t positively say Coy was the driver until he can get more information.
Gockstetter said he wasn’t sure if Coy was ejected from the car or if he got out on his own.
Also responding to the accident were Norwalk firefighters, North Central EMS and the Huron County Sheriff’s Office.
Gockstetter said the investigation will continue until he can talk to Coy again and get more information.
