Education: Associate degree in mechanical engineering from PGH Institute of Technology

Why did you decide to run: To participate in the educational process that defines and directs the current and future direction this school will take over the next four years, to continue the work of the board that has put this school in excellent academic rating and good financial standing, to maintain good open discussion and planning as a board whose sole purpose is for the good of the school as a whole

What do you see as the top three concerns facing your constituents:

1) Keeping the school financially stable by making good decisions with input from reliable sources

2) Keeping the school at the excellent rating by creating ongoing pride within the staff and students

3) Staff and administration working together by increased attendance by parents at board meetings

Occupation: employed at Allen Community Hospital in Oberlin for 25 years, director of cardio-pulmonary service for the past 20 years

Education: 1981 graduate of New London High School, graduate of North Central State University with degree in respiratory therapy, B.A. in health care management from CCHS

Previous Public Service: New London School Board since 2004

Why did you decide to run: I would like to continue to help provide the best educational opportunity as possible to the students in the New London district. I feel that my work experience and my experience working with school personnel and students is an asset to the system.

What do you see as the top three concerns facing your constituents:

1) School safety - continuing to push for policies that involve improving our school's safety and security

2) School funding - continue to work with the rest of the board, superintendent and treasurer to work within our budgetary constraints

3) Communication - continue to work to improve relationships with parents and with the community by promoting open lines of communication.
