GREENWICH — A Greenwich man was found dead Saturday morning, the apparent victim of a train accident.

According to Greenwich Police Chief Steve Dorsey, a CSX train engineer discovered the body across the tracks about 8 a.m.

The victim is Zachary Magill, 24, of 95 Kniffin St.

Dorsey said Magill was last seen walking home from a local bar about 3:15 a.m.

His body was found behind the Versitech building on the north end of the village, where the railroad tracks divide, next to a power utility site, near Pierce and Kniffin streets, not far from Magill's residence, the chief said.

Huron County Coroner Dr. Jeffrey Harwood has sent the body for an autopsy and toxicology tests.

Dorsey said more information will be released as it becomes available.

Reflector correspondent Heather Chapin-Fowler contributed to this story.

How terribly sad! RIP

Sitting In The ...

Very sad he was only 24 RIP

RIP Zach.. everybody that knew you loved and cared about you. You were taken from your family, friends, and this earth way too soon. You were such a great person. And I hope you knew how much we all appreciated you.

so sad. Condolences to all of the family left behind..

I find it kinda ironic that the same night this man is found dead that a girl is missing from the same area/bar...not sure if the same bar but if it is than is there a connection...if I was a betting man...I'm guessing yes but I hope not and she is found safe and these situations are not related.

Those were my thoughts too Rocky, These 2 storys just dont sound right to me. I hope someone besides GPD is looking in to them.

swiss family

wow @ Rocky-one...all those years of watching "Columbo" and you got it so disappointing

They aren't related. Just a coincidence. The only difference is people feel great sorrow and sadness for Zack and the family. The other one... well... just another day in the life...

It's a Jeep thing

Wow. Rip. Great guy, and a great family.

So sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family during this very difficult time.

Greenwich's festival was going on this weekend Rocky-One 1969. So a lot of people in town. There is only one bar in town.

The two incidences have nothing in common... There is allot going on this weekend in Greenwich, and ALLOT of people coming into town.. Zach is the town farmboy/ everyone's friend, just all around great person. Dominique is just the bar owners granddaughter and also a friend to many. Zach always walked the tracks, as this is a horrible thing that happened we all knew it could happen. As for the girl her story may or may not be true, as stories are made up all the time of her being drugged, and her leaving the bar with someone other than her husband and not coming back for a day or two.

Very true...and so sad to hear this happened to Zack. Prayers to his family and friends.
