Police are waiting for a statement from one of the people involved in a recent fight before forwarding a report to a prosecutor.

North Central EMS transported a 37-year-old Bellevue man to the Bellevue Hospital emergency room after an altercation early Sunday near the Subway Lounge. Bellevue police reported the "doctor was forced to sedate" him because he reportedly was being "disruptive, speaking loudly ... being uncooperative and using vulgar language" and had him transported to the University of Toledo Medical Center (UTMC).

"They reported that he had broken facial bones around his eye socket and there was a chance of him losing his sight in that eye," police said in a report.

UTMC spokeswoman Aimee Falk said the patient was discharged from the hospital Monday.

Officers Joshua Pickens and Tyi McCarley responded to the scene about 2:35 a.m. Sunday after they heard yelling coming from the area of the Subway Lounge. Upon arrival, the officers said they saw two male suspects on the ground fighting, with two other people standing nearby, and had to pull a 46-year-old Bellevue man off the 37-year-old man.

Witnesses said "a tussle broke out" in the bar in which the younger man hit another man in the back of his head and also reportedly grabbed a 38-year-old Bellevue woman's arm, which caused some bruising. The witnesses said two men dragged the attacker out of the bar after he refused to leave and once outside, he reportedly charged and punched the 46-year-old man, who in turn knocked his attacker "to the ground and continued to punch him," police said.

One of the men claimed he acted in self-defense after he reportedly was hit in the back of the head when he was outside. Police also said one of the men involved in the outside altercation accused people of kicking him in the face and punching him.

Three people told officers they wanted to press charges against the 37-year-old Bellevue man who went to the hospital, but the older Bellevue man declined to do so, police said.

Chief Dennis Brandal said Wednesday officers are waiting for a statement from one of the people before forwarding the matter to Bellevue City Prosecutor Dave Claus for the consideration of filing charges.

Well if those punks do get away with it, I wonder what they'll do next. Paul is a great friend. How many people say that about those Mira boys. I haven't heard anyone say anything good about them. bellevue is such a lame town. Filled with small minded, no morality having, humorless freaks.
