HIGHWAY PATROL Katelynn E. Nichols, 17, of 3634 Medusa Road, was charged with failure to control Oct. 22 after she swerved to miss a cat on Ohio 601, went off the left side and hit a mailbox. North Central EMS transported her to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries. No further information was available because of her age.

HIGHWAY PATROL

Katelynn E. Nichols, 17, of 3634 Medusa Road, was charged with failure to control Oct. 22 after she swerved to miss a cat on Ohio 601, went off the left side and hit a mailbox. North Central EMS transported her to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries. No further information was available because of her age.

Connie L. Burrows, 45, of Savannah, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to yield the right-of-way Oct. 22 after she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of U.S. 224 and Ninevah Road. She continued north on Ninevah Road and hit a ditch.

Troopers are investigating an Ohio 598 crash Tuesday where the unknown driver of a blue Ford Lincoln Towncar went off the left side, hit a ditch and stopped in a corn field. The person fled the scene before troopers arrived.

The following motorists hit deer Friday: Goretti A. Newman, 57, of Vermilion, on Ohio 60; Jodie A. Tarleton, 21, of Wooster, on U.S. 224; Bernard H. Koolwic Jr., 64, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., on U.S. 250; and Michael P. Mandeville, 26, of Attica, on Townline Road 197 in Venice Township.

Daniel D. Baughman, 51, of 93B Newton St., was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Robert Timman, 84, of 13 St. Mary's St., on U.S. 250.

Troopers are investigating a U.S. 250 crash Friday where an unknown driver of a mid-size car hit the left side of the vehicle driven by Allen Davarius, 18, of Sandusky, after failing to yield the right-of-way from a private driveway and fled the scene.

Brian L. Donnamiller, 25, of 1673 Niver Road, Willard, was charged with failure to follow the rules for driving in marked lanes Friday in the collision with the vehicle driven by Nicole E. Schmidt, 23, of 4 S. Church St., Willard, at the intersection of Townline Road 12 and Peru Center Road. Willard EMS transported Schmidt to Mercy Hospital of Willard with serious injuries. Donnamiller reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

The following motorists hit deer Saturday: Stacy A. Heitsche, 43, of 2342 Collins Road, Collins, on U.S. 20; Richard D. Snyder, 43, of Lebanon, on U.S. 20; and Kristin L. Seitz, of 55 Willard Ave., on Old State Road.

Marion L. Montgomery II, 36, of 135 Park Ave., Lot 32, Plymouth, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Saturday after he failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Greenwich Milan Townline and Baseline roads. He went off the south side of Baseline Road, hit a ditch and stopped in a field.

NORWALK POLICE

The owner of a North Foster Street business reported damage to various equipment Friday.

An area resident accused a relative of violating a protection order by following and harassing her Friday. Police forwarded a report to the Norwalk Law Director's office for the consideration of charges.

Responded to a Manahan Avenue domestic disturbance Friday. The resident's 13-year-old daughter was reported missing. Derik R. Ross, 18, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct.

An area resident reported an unspecified incident Friday at Norwalk High School.

The Mansfield Police Department reported having Gene G. Mason, 28, whose address was unavailable, in custody on an undisclosed local warrant Friday. He was released after posting bond.

Dispatched a sick raccoon Friday on Homewood Avenue and had the city sanitation department pick up the carcass.

Crystal N. Rutkowski, 21, of 2361 Collins Road, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Barbara J. Graffice, 48, of 26 W. Washington St., on Benedict Avenue.

Ana D. Mazariegos, 27, of 4110 Laylin Road, was charged with driving without a license Friday after backing too far Friday on Pitt Street and hit the parked vehicle driven by Anthony R. Jester, 41, of 282 W. Main St., No. 2.

Todd J. Taylor, 16, of 99 Gallup Ave., was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after he hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Shannon E. Ewell, 16, of 161 E. Main St., at the intersection of Norwood Avenue and Southwood Drive. That collision pushed Ewell's car into the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Hallie E. Wiedle, 16, of 12 Hickory St.

James J. Ruck, 20, 4813 Ohio 18, Wakeman, was arrested on a warrant Saturday and charged with failure to show proof of six months of anger control counseling. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Westwind Drive loss prevention officer reported the theft of Apple iPods from the business Saturday.

A Whittlesey Avenue resident reported damage to the light post in her front yard Saturday.

An area resident reported a domestic dispute Saturday.

A West Main Street resident reported a domestic dispute Saturday. Bryan J. Maxwell, 20, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on two unrelated warrants and charged with theft and criminal damaging.

A Strongsville resident reported being pursued by a male suspect in an inappropriate manner Saturday and finding the gate to her fenced-in patio unlatched and open Oct. 19, 20 and again Wednesday. The Strongsville Police Department is investigating a telephone harassment complaint.

A Williams Avenue resident reported mailbox vandalism Saturday.

A Christie Avenue resident accused the father of her 4-month-old son of telephone harassment Saturday.

Arrested several juveniles in connection with a dispatcher receiving an anonymous tip about an underage alcohol party Saturday on Glover Street. Matthew Whidden, 18, whose address was unavailable, was issued a summons and charged with underage consumption and released to a sober person. The juveniles were released to their parents or guardians.

The detective bureau conducted a compliance check of local bars and taverns Saturday. Two 19-year-old subjects were refused service when they attempted to buy alcohol at the following businesses: Charlie's Bar, Waldo's Bar, Glass Bar, Shamrock Tavern, Bluto's Cafe, Friendly Corners and TJ's Bar and Grill.

Amanda L. Metcalf, 22, of 101 State St., was charged with passing on the right Saturday after she hit the right side of the pickup truck driven by Kevin M. Brant, 36, of Lindsey, on State Street.

Amanda L. Hayes, 17, of 108 Gibbs Road, was charged with failure to control Saturday after she hydroplaned while turning left from Schauss Avenue onto Ohio 61, went off the right side and hit a guardrail.

Alejandro Roblero, 18, whose address was unavailable, was charged with driving under the influence, driving without a license and underage consumption in connection with a traffic stop Sunday.

Cesar Valazquez, 26, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on two warrants Sunday and charged with disorderly conduct during the Roblero traffic stop.

Nicole L. Fisher, 23, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on two warrants Sunday and charged with failure to appear for an initial appearance on driving without a license. She was released after posting bond.

An area railroad employee reported damage to the railroad wires that activate the crossing gates and signal flashers on U.S. 250 and Woodlawn Avenue on Sunday. This is the third similar incident.

An area motorist reported someone hit her vehicle while it was parked at Whitney Field on Sunday.

A Redford, Mich., resident reported receiving a $721 collection letter Sunday for phone service provided to a Whittlesey Avenue resident in October 1998. The man suspects a relative used his personal information without his authorization.

Michelle J. Ganzhorn, 23, of 15 S. Old State Road, was arrested in six contempt of court warrants Sunday. She is serving a 20-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Woodward Drive resident reported her inflatable Halloween decorations were deflated Sunday.

A Concord Court resident reported damage to his apartment door Sunday.

Had two juveniles return a playground gate to League Elementary which they found in a junk pile on a Foster Street tree lawn Sunday. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor's office and Huron County Juvenile Court.

No citation was issued in a Milan Avenue business parking lot accident Sunday after one driver backed out of a parking space and hit the left rear of a parked vehicle.

Adam J. Boss, 26, of 208 Jefferson St., was charged with improper backing Sunday in the Carriage Court collision with the parked vehicle owned by a Brookpark business. SHERIFF'S OFFICE

An area motorist reported someone hit her vehicle in a Townsend Avenue business parking lot Friday.

A South Central High School employee requested extra patrol in the area Friday after seeing a motorist fail to yield or stop while leaving the parking lot the last several days. The driver also is accused of speeding in the other lane of traffic while heading into Greenwich.

Dispatchers were advised of an alarm activation at an Ohio 103, Willard, business Friday.

An area motorist reported a possible disabled vehicle Friday on Ohio 61, Plymouth, south of Skinner Road.

Chad M. Conley, 25, of 437 E. High St., Willard, was arrested on two Huron County Common Pleas Court warrants Saturday and charged with two counts of probation violation. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail awaiting for a bond hearing.

An Ohio 601 resident reported domestic violence Sunday. The Erie County Sheriff's Office called later to report hearing a struggle during the phone call before the line went dead.
