A Berlin Heights woman pleaded guilty to a drug-dealing charge Tuesday.

Lavanna M. Harmon, 47, of 12613 Berlin Road, pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in alprazolam for a July 26 transaction. She entered the plea the day of her birthday.

Huron County Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Josh Querin initiated the investigation with the cooperation of the Monroeville Police Department.

Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said authorities used a confidential informant and Harmon bought five Xanax pills from a confidential informant for $10.

"Three juveniles were in the vehicle when the transaction took place," Leffler said.

As part of a plea deal, the state agreed to dismiss one count each count of trafficking in alprazolam and trafficking in buprenophine in connection with respective incidents on Aug. 23 and Nov. 6.

Leffler said the state would recommend some form of community control sanctions during Harmon's Aug. 7 sentencing hearing, which could include up to six months in the Huron County Jail. Harmon earlier posted a $5,000 bond.

If it happened as stated, that is one effed up bust. Why would one plead guilty to that?
