A Norwalk woman accused of stealing two firearms and possessing heroin was in court Monday on the two cases.

Shauna R. Greaves, 32, of 204 S. Old State Road, entered a "not guilty" plea to theft of a firearm in connection with a May 17 incident. If convicted of the third-degree felony, she faces nine months to three years in prison.

"I've been a stay-at-home mom for years," Greaves told Huron County Common Pleas Judge Jim Conway when he asked her about her employment history.

Greaves, who is out on a $15,000 bond, goes to trial Sept. 12. The judge prohibited her from having any association with the male victim or being on the premises of his Townline Road 12, Willard, residence.

The Huron County Sheriff's Office investigated the case after the man reported the theft of firearms May 13.

Greaves came to the sheriff's office on her own May 19. Norwalk Assistant Law Director Scott Christophel has said the suspect, who reportedly knows the victim, confessed to stealing a rifle and handgun, which didn't happen during a burglary. Christophel declined to elaborate.

Also Monday, attorneys discussed a second case during a pre-trial hearing. Greaves is charged with possession of heroin in connection with a July 10 incident.

That trial date is July 30.

Huron County Public Defender David Longo said he had requested evidence from prosecutors in late May, but was still waiting to receive it as of Monday afternoon. Longo said there hasn't been any plea negotiations, but he said he hopes to "package" the heroin case with the other one.

In mid-April, Greaves was arrested on the heroin charge during "Operation: Crystal Clear," when authorities from three counties arrested multiple suspects on drug-related secret indictments.

Please. Shauna is always in trouble. Always comes out smelling like a rose. When will it stop? She will steal from anyone to get what she wants. Shauna parents have custody of her kids.
