Two suspected accomplices accused of stealing a vehicle entered "not guilty" pleas Monday in Huron County Common Pleas Court.

Shane E. Danielson, 24, of 9217 Ransom Road, Monroeville, and Brett M. Smith, 22, of Clyde, are charged with theft of a motor vehicle in connection with a May 3 incident.

Both defendants earlier posted a $5,000 bond. Judge Jim Conway has prohibited them from being on the premises of Smiley Automotive in Norwalk.

The court scheduled a Sept. 24 trial date for Danielson, who said he has a prior felony conviction through Sandusky County. Smith's trial is set for Sept. 3.

If convicted, each defendant faces six to 18 months behind bars.

"If convicted, each defendant faces six to 18 months behind bars."

Oh no, it's Judge Conway. He'll give them 4-6 months in CBCF followed by "intense" probation.

Funny how all of a sudden houses in the area haven't been cased anymore. They used to ride up and down the roads around the residence late at night on their four wheelers really slow. Lock em up!
