Doing drugs is a choice people make. If rehab, counseling, etc.. did not work then maybe they weren't trying. It is sad that heroin has become so bad but it has always been around- that is up to the individual who chooses to use. The dealers are just as guilty but the user chooses to go there and buy. Nobody holds a gun to their head to use it. As far as feeling sorry for these people- I am sorry I cannot. I get up and go to work everyday and raise my children and try to keep them away from this disgusting lifestyle.

You'd be surprised of the hell I've been through in my life. But no matter how bad it got I never ever chose drugs or booze to solve my problems. Get your head out of the sand. An addiction is NOT an illness. People choose to be addicts they don't choose to be sick with things like cancer or Alzheimers do they? BTW about your remark on "my kids"--don't have any-- so that shoots your theory down. My remarks were no different than anyone else's. Get over yourself. You don't like my comments too bad. They were mostly about the illegal aliens drug train, anyway...

re; its your ch...

you need to open your eyes, you have kids right now that you are raising. Well, good luck to you because will need it with your eyes closed. So what you have a job and are keeping your kids away from drugs. Well news flash, you can not control it. I'm afraid your words will come back and bite you right in the behind someday. I hope not but I thought just like you at one time, boy was I in for a rude awakening. We don't, or for the most of us, have our children around drugs. It doesn't cross our mind when we have them and are enjoying them throughout their childhood that they could become drug addicts, in that case I would have never had a child. No one has a child and looks at it and wonders, will they be a heroin addict someday and put needles in their veins. I never did. But it happened anyways. Now I look at my grandkids with the fear that they too will become addicts, you have no promise's that they won't. I have seen kids from every walk of life and there is no one who is above and beyond it happening to them. So you can sit on your petalstool and say my kids won't, I've taught them better and judge us parents who are going thru this with our kids like we've done something wrong but you might regret those words someday. I know I do. And it was bad enough to have one child do it and the younger one watch it destroy their life and cause them to lose everything they owned, even their children, to then start doing himself. How in Gods name do you explain that?? How can so many people and kids see what it is doing to the people around them and then try it themselves. What is it?? And you are right about they have a choice to do it or not do it, but why are so many trying it, just to try and prove that you can do it and not become addicted the first time?? I don't have the awnser's. I wish I did. And to the part where they don't want to quit, you are wrong, they do want to, they want their lifes back but they want the drug more. It has to be the worst hell you can go through. Good luck to you and your "perfect" life that drugs will not touch because you are better than that and a better parent than us, you will need it.

T$Robinson.... ...

i do feel bad for anyone who choses the life and destructiveness of drug abuse as a lifestyle, but it is just that , a choice, and not a disease. if you call it a disease, you are making it sound like the "victim" didn't have any choice in the matter, and that it just came out of no where, like M.S. or Alsheimers, or Cerebla palsay or something, which it is definately NOT the same thing!!! by saying that it is a disease, you are once again taking away the ownership and accountability of everyone who is an addict. they are in the sad mess that they are in, because of something that they chose to do.. it is definately a result of their actions, and it makes me cringe, when i hear people say it is a disease.

re; T$Robinson...

no one cares what you have to say. So go stick your head back in the sand.

re,T$Robinson (...

Your right they do choose to try drugs in the first place, but once they do it, it becomes an ILLNESS. Untill you have been addicted to something or have watched a sibling have an addiction you might want to watch what you say.
Also how are any of these guys going to get help when they want 10,000 for rehab.
To re, its your choice, you hit it right on the head I couldn't have said it better.

Dear TRobinson ...

Go back to school...Cerebla palsay?? What is THAT? Spell check...you need that and typing lessons. YOU make me cringe when you spout off and have no clue as to what you are talking about. You have NO clue. Go buy some gas and milk...and guzzle THIS!

to T$Robinson (...

Tami, is that you? If so, Hi!!!

T$Robinson.... ...

to "Dear TRobinson" i would suggest that before you try to correct my spelling, you should take a look at your own> the name is T$Robinson, not TRobinson...please get it right!and as far as i say about my opinion as to whether it is an addiction or a choice, i will always believe that it is a choice, not an addiction.. i have had people close to me who were and are addicts, and i myself was addicted to cigarettes for a long time, but it was an addiction of my own choising, i put the cigarette in my hand and mouth, no disease did that to me.. if you are willing to buy it as a disease, where does it stop?? i love to throw rocks at moving cars, i can't help it though, its part of my disease!! please!! what a lame excuse.. its not a disease, its a choice

I agree..... (A...

Alcohol and drugs are addictions, not diseases. If they are diseases then they are the only ones you can buy over the counter top or on the street corner. You don't buy diseases !!!

FACT (Anonymous)

The disease model of addiction holds that addiction is a disease, coming about as a result of either the impairment of neurochemical or behavioral processes, or of some combination of the two. Within this model, addictive disease is treated by specialists in Addiction Medicine. Within the field of medicine, the American Medical Association, National Association of Social Workers, and American Psychological Association all have policies which are predicated on the theory that addictive processes represent a disease state. Most treatment approaches, as well, are based on the idea that dependencies are behavioral dysfunctions, and, therefore, contain, at least to some extent, elements of physical or mental disease. Organizations such as the American Society of Addiction Medicine believe the research-based evidence for addiction's status as a disease is overwhelming.

So (Anonymous)

Take the addictive drugs completely away from an individual and there is no more disease. But as you say it is a disease, then these people can sign up for Social Security, as they are soooo addicted, most cannot work and hold a job. Talk about SS not being there for us in the future, these addicted will use it all. What say you ? No drugs or alcohol in this world, then no addiction, no diseases.....

it's your choic...

There is a little truth to the addiction being an illness. You can contract hepatitis c, staph(MRSA), HIV. Too often we hear of people robbing and stealing to support their habit but to take from their family is just insane. Probably everyone involved in this whole mess either uses or deals. People need to quit being scared and step up and take action. I don't have a "perfect" life but I live my life honestly and hardworking and you can bet your butt if I suspected my kids of being on drugs I would seek help no matter what the cost. The problem I see is when they keep going back to this lifestyle knowing what it will do. If you touched a hot stove, would you do again on purpose? I think not!!

YOU KNOW WHO I...

i thought this was suppose to be comments about the article and not to be spreading awful rumors about people..YOU NEED TO GROW UP AND GET A LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re: So (Anonymous)

I could not have said it better myself. I myself would love to be able to retire with social security benefits. These boys should have gotten JOBS like most of us do and take care of their own the good old fashion way-working your butt off!

re you know who...

No who are you? Relation to the ones involved trying to cover for their crimes???

well i know who...

NOT I'M NOT RELATED TO THOSE SCUMBAGS BUT THIS IS ABOUT THREE MAN WHO ROBBED SOMEONE NOT ABOUT HERION ADDICTS/DRUG DEALERS IN WILLARD. I WOULDN'T COVER CRIME FOR ANYONE. LOSERS

yeah right (Ano...

it has everthing to do with the 3 men who obbed people, they weren't just any people they were scum sucking nasty heroin dealers. Who in my opinion got a little of what they deserve. They had better hope they go to prison because I have a feeling things out here are gonna get pretty rough on them. There buyers are also tired of doing time but where are they, they are still out here doing what they do best, destroying every life they can manipulate into trying their goodies. Jus like anyother salesman, try it once and you'll never want anything else. And thats about the way it is.

re; what a shoc...

why does that surprize anyone?? All the comments that speak the cold hard truth are deleted. They are afraid they will be sued?? You see there are a select few from willard who pay to keep their names out of the newspapers. But anyone from here already knows this and knows who they are. Because they do this and then brag to people how they can buy the reporters off. Doesn't make any sense if you ask me. Why pay someone to keep quiet then brag to everyone?? See reflector, how else would we know unless they were out here running their mouths about it.

T$Robinson.... ...

sorry , i still dont buy it!! being a drunk is a choice, not a disease.. take away the booze and drugs and the problem is solved !!

Yoo-Hoo, T$ROBI...

DID YOU KNOW: Benjamin Franklin is quoted as saying "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." You can take away all the heroin and crack in the world, I don't care. But God wants me to be happy, so you can't take away the beer. Good Day!

re; T$Robinson...

you are a disease also, is it by choice or mental illness?? Now come on people, you have to admit that is a good one, lol.

their both out ...

but these 3 are still in?? If they wouldn't have had heroin they would have never been robbed. Thats all these 3 wanted, god knows how much the Dalton have taken from them over the years. We'll see who gets more time, any bets??

to re; T$Robins...
