A Norwalk woman is charged with three counts of receiving stolen property in connection with stealing checks from an acquaintance.

If convicted, Megan R. Wiseman, 24, of 200 Benedict Ave., faces six to 12 months behind bars on each of the fifth-degree felonies. The Norwalk Police Department arrested her Friday near a local bank.

"She tried to negotiate one of the checks. She tried to cash it. That's how authorities were alerted," Norwalk Assistant Law Director Scott Christophel said.

When police arrived, they found Wiseman in possession of three checks, he said.

This was at PNC by the police station. I was in the lobby when she was escorted out by the officer. What a stupid girl......These kids don't want to work anymore. Just feed off society and do drugs. And they will be taking care of us someday. Very scary
