Ashland bomb squad on call 24/7

The Ashland County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is on call 24 hours, seven days a week for a six-county area. "The unit handles an average of 30 calls per year. These calls include responding to bomb threats, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), improvised incendiary devices, military ordinance, commercial explosives and hazardous chemicals that are explosive in nature," according to the sheriff's office Web site.
