NORWALK POLICE

Daniel S. Hall, 42, of Cuyahoga Falls, was arrested on two local contempt of court warrants Monday at the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Ralph A. Walker, 82, of 114 E. Main St., was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Tuesday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Carol J. Mechling, 58, of 1039 County Road 16, New London, at the intersection of Christie and Norwood avenues.

No citation was issued Tuesday in the collision between the vehicles driven by Carl J. Townsend, 51, of 210 Jefferson St., and Mark J. Smith, 46, of 166 W. Main St., at the intersection of East Main and Chatham streets.

James E. Kessler, 26, of 7 Patrician Drive, was charged with failure to control Tuesday after he hit a West Main Street utility pole west of Valley Park Drive.

The Elyria Police Department reported arresting Evan D. Busek, 26, of Wakeman, on a local warrant Tuesday. He was charged with failure to appear for a criminal trespassing trial. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

Nicholas R. Stamper, 22, whose address was unavailable, turned himself in on a warrant Tuesday and was charged with inflicting or threatening to inflict physical harm to someone during a theft offense. He was released later from the Huron County Jail after posting bond.

Jameeliah A. Grant, 24, whose address was unavailable, was arrested on a warrant Tuesday and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. She was released on bond after police took her to Norwalk Municipal Court.

The owner of a vacant Reed Street house reported finding muddy footprints on the carpet Tuesday. She had cleaned the carpet recently and changed the locks two weeks ago.

Daniel A. Warren, 26, whose address was unavailable, was charged with an open container violation in connection with a Republic Street incident Tuesday.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

The Galion Police Department requested a deputy notify a Sinclair Street, Bellevue, resident for an undisclosed reason because the Bellevue Police Department wasn't available Tuesday.

A U.S. 250, New London, resident reported a suspected burglary Tuesday after discovering someone forced their way into her home.

The Greenwich Police Department reported arresting Christopher S. Aumend, 22, of 21 E. Main St., Greenwich, in custody on a Huron County Common Pleas Court warrant Tuesday. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail on a probation violation.

The state Highway Patrol requested assistance with a hit-skip accident at an Ohio 598, Willard, migrant camp Tuesday.

A U.S. 224, Willard, resident reported someone took the ties off his dog's pen and stole his white English bulldog Tuesday. The complainant also found a white envelope with a company paycheck stub in it on his driveway when he came home.

Transported an unspecified juvenile arrested on an undisclosed Bellevue Police Department warrant Tuesday to the Sandusky County Juvenile Detention Center. There was a Huron County Juvenile Court shelter care hearing this morning.

James T. Phelps, 37, of 5571 U.S. 20, Lot 2, Wakeman, was charged with disorderly conduct after a Wakeman police officer found him slumped over the wheel of a red pickup truck in the suspect's mobile home park Tuesday.

Reported a drug case Tuesday at an East Walton Street, Willard, business.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from a U.S. 250 home where dispatchers could a hear a baby crying before the phone was hung up.

Dispatchers sent a deputy to check on the well-being of a woman and the child.

The Norwalk Police Department requested a deputy pick up an unwanted handgun left at a U.S. 250 address Tuesday.

A Tumney Trail resident reported a barking dog complaint Tuesday.
