Willard boy, 17, convicted of felonious assault

A 17-year-old Willard boy will be sentenced Nov. 19 for felonious assault for his part in a June 17 domestic altercation. Huron County Juvenile Court Judge Timothy Cardwell ruled that evidence showed the boy failed to prove he acted in self-defense. An eye doctor said the 19-year-old Greenwich male victim "sustained serious physical harm," including a fractured skull near his left eye, bleeding in his cranial cavity and optic nerve damage.
