Three Willard defendants accused of committing an armed robbery each will have to post $60,000 before being released from the Huron County Jail.

The three men are accused of entering an Austin Drive, Willard, apartment and brandishing a firearm "in an attempt to gain property and cash," Norwalk Assistant Law Director T. Douglas Clifford said.

Ryan M. Forte, 21, of 410 E. Walton St., Lot 23, was charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated burglary. His accomplices, Jason E. Maye 23, of 818 Main St., Apt. 3A, and Byron A. Lovo, 20, of 166 Second St., were charged with aggravated burglary and complicity to aggravated robbery.

"It's our understanding Mr. Forte was holding the firearm," Clifford said. "There was a great degree of distress the victim received."

One of the victims, a woman, came to the Willard Police Department about 3 p.m. Wednesday to report the incident.

"She said she and her husband had been robbed," Huron County Sheriff's Sgt. Annette McLaughlin said. "They had removed her phone service. That's why she was at the police department."

The two victims were threatened with the weapon, Detective Sgt. Dane Howard said. "It ended up being a big CO2 pistol, which we later recovered."

He credited McLaughlin with "cultivating the information" in breaking the case. Howard said all three suspects admitted to the crime to him during their respective interviews.

The Willard Police Department, state Highway Patrol and Ohio Bureau of Identification and Investigation were involved in the investigation. Bob McDowell, the investigator for Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler's office, handled police dog Theo during the probe.

"It was an awesome display of teamwork," Howard said.

Capt. Bob McLaughlin, Annette's husband, followed up on various leads and found Maye on South Main Street between 5 and 5:30 p.m.

"That interview led to the two other suspects," Howard said about Forte and Lovo, who were discovered on East Walton Street about an hour later.

"Capt. McLaughlin used a search warrant to search that residence," Howard continued.

The search warrant netted a stolen digital camera and bandanas the men reportedly used to cover their faces during the robbery, Annette McLaughlin said. She said all three suspects had cash on them, which is believed to have been stolen from the victims' apartment.

Maye denied being a flight risk during his Norwalk Municipal Court bond hearing Thursday.

"There's no way I could get bonded out," he told Judge John Ridge by closed circuit television. "I guess I'm stuck here."

Forte said he is on vacation from Miami, Fla. and is staying with his mother.

The third defendant, Lovo, began to talk about the case before Ridge warned him the bond hearing wasn't the appropriate time. "I know what I did was wrong," Lovo began.

Willard...Willard...Willard....now people are not safe even in their homes???? Or perhaps there is more to this story.................

to everyone who...

there is more to this story starting off that the people they robbed are known drug dealers in the city of willard and the cops know about them. secondly nobody removed the phone line that's a lie in order to juicen up the story. why would she drive to the police station why not ask her neighbor and scream for help as they are getting away??? because they needed time to get rid of all of the heroin that was in their apartment and to keep the cops from showing up to soon. if they are going to take there phone line away why didnt they take their car keys???? they need to invistigate this case to find out more... but either way the suspects who are stupid for attempting to do what they did.

To the one's wh...

I know everyone in this little town of Willard like's to get in everyone else's buisness, but I am related to the victim and I wouldn't wish this on ANYONE! The Sherriff also had the dog out and it is pretty funny that the dog DID NOT have any trace of drugs but they did trace the suspects.. They offered to let the dog in there house to pick up the scents of the idiots who put these people as VICTIMS, but they didn't get any scents of heroin (if they are dealer's they would of had a trace)!! Until you have something like this happen to you or your family I would advise you to get all your facts straight.. The Willard cop's were there right after she went to the police station (with-in a few minutes) and then the Sherriff arrived. It funny the person below always bringing up heroin. Maybe they need to have there problem checked! It's called REHAB!! I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy! Come on people have a heart these people could of been dead over something stupid that 3 people have been arrested for and plead GULITY. They know the did wrong!!

i agree with "everyone who wants to know". these so called victims are known drug dealers at least one of them is anyway. to the family member, i think that you are in denial and when you come to grips with this you'll see. trust me i know from experience. in fact i have a family member who used to buy drugs from this victim. i believe there is more to this story and sooner or later it will catch up with the " victim " and justice will be served.

BITCH ASS MOFO ...

Comment removed for profanity.

I DON'T GET WHY...

why do they print their addresses? do we really need to know where these thugs live? go toilet paper their house?

i hope hat everyone reads these comments carefully! it was definately NOT me who is starting any rumors or telling any part of the untold story here. i am sure though, that it will get twisted around to make it seem like i am the person starting rumors in here .. i don't know any of the criminals, or any of the victims, but i really do wish that there was a way to crack down on all of the illegal drug activity in this entire area, , and also all of the crime levels in general

When it comes to these two worthless drug dealers, alot of us do know it all. She is as guilty as he is. Gee, how does he get to columbus??? The little misses, we all know that. Who sells for him when he spent his big day or two in jail, or when his "health" doesn't permit?? No, they propbally didn't find any heroin duh, because that is why they were robbed. It had been talked about and planned for a week before it even happened. Why, because the "victims" were the only ones getting heroin in willard, for a few days. Its back up and going strong again. You live by the sword, you die by the sword! I have no pity for these two low lifes, they are trash and when your son or daughter is getting it from them then we will see how you fill about them then. I know personally what kind of trash they are and what they can do to a young man full of promise. How many people do you think have od'd at their hands. Guess that doesn't matter though. Poor things, yeah right. Our children are the victims and they are getting what they deserve and have alot more to come if you ask me. I personally owe them big time for what they have cost a family memeber of mine and are still costing him, only to watch them buy their way out with their drug profits. Whoever sticks up for these low lifed heroin dealers are as low as them in my opinion. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall and seen the two of them scared for their lifes, lol, lol, lol.

yadda yadda yad...

Them victims---what the h*ll are you on?? Our children and loved ones are the victims, not these worthless heroin dealers! I say they should be robbed everyday, then just maybe, they would stop since they are above the law as we all know here in Willard

oh my God (Anon...

VICTIMS-the victims are our children and families. These two poor excuses for people got what they had coming and alot more yet to come. How many victims have been put in their graves because of these two? How many of our children are in prison right now because of these two?? How dare you call them victims?? You are just as guilty as them if you think they are victims. They have only begun to pay for all the damage they have caused our children. They think they are above the law but they are not above us. So let them ride around in their sporty little convertable and her with her nose up in the air as if she was a pillar of the community. I think their problems have only just begun.

who cares (Anon...

Before people realized who these so called victims were, they felt bad for them only to realize they got what they deserved. Why wasn't the whole story told? People from that side of town were worried for their safety, wondering if they would be next. Only to find out who the supposed victims were. The 3 men who robbed them were probally the real victims! There are alot of users in this town who are angry because they get caught but the dealers always goes free. Why is that. One kid has spent 5 or 6 months and still is facing more time just for giving this piece of cr*p a ride! And what did he get?? Hmmm....2 days in jail, maybe only one and maybe 2 months probation. People really want to know why he always walks and others pay for his crimes??? Print this, we all would like to figure this out. My friend is probally going to be doing another 5 months because he said to h*ll with it, why should he be punished when the this man wasn't at all. So he stopped reporting to his probation officer. Why should he when the other isn't even on probation? He was charged with aiding a drug dealer, for giving him a ride and got slammed and the dealer got nothing. Anyone from Willard will know who these two are so come on people protest. This man charged with aiding will be sentenced for the 2nd time later this month and is facing another 5 or 6 months. And what is this so called "victim" getting, pity for being robbed! I wish I could print names so people could look on the clerks court page and look at the 2 cases and see how unjust the system is. His family is outraged and so are his friends. He was just recently hospitilized for depression, anxiety and suicidal intentions. I feel awful for him and his family. And the way it has been printed we are to feel sorry for this victim who was robbed, hah! Look what his ride to columbus that day has been robbed of.

congrat's (Anon...

these 3 men should recieve an award for what they did! Instead they will rot in a prison cell for about 8 years while the heroin dealers keep on dealing, only in Herion county usa. Next time use a real gun!

Just a thought ...

next time tie them up, gag them and lock them in their house. wish I could do it and not get caught.

why didn't they...

oh, guess they didn't want to tie up the drug line huh. Or maybe it was stolen along with the heroin and cash. Need those hook ups numbers. A great deal of distress to the victim, yeah you bet your *ss there was, he lost his heroin and money to replenish his supply, poor baby. hope you are having fun recouping your losses.

hmmm.... (Anonymous)

wonder if thats my digital camera?? Mine was stolen a few months back by a girl who buys from this victim, hehe, I hear they take anything on trade that is worth a few dollars. Where do I find out more about this camera, would really love to have it back. I have all the paperwork and even a picture of it and the receipt.

how's business ...

hopefully no one robs u again soon, you might start loosing business to the other local dealers, lol.

I was wondering...

When this story broke, I wondered if the the 'victims' were in any way associated with the drug world, why else would they get robbed in the manner they were robbed? I knew there had to be more to it. And I doubt this scared them straight, either. Hope they get caught. They need to be held accountable as well. I hate the heroin dealers and what they have done to the people of Huron Co.

finally.. (Anon...

..everyone is starting to see the light. maybe if enough comments are posted someone somewhere will decide to do something! this "victim" has been getting away with stuff for years.violence, dui's,drugs and whatever else he has been involved in.it is time for the judicial system to step up and put him away for along time.quit using his "illness" as an excuse, if he has to be quarentined, then do it. just get him off the street!!!! to many other families are suffering because of things this man has kept going. when you loose a family member because of this drug maybe you will realize.whether it be death or a lengthy jail term you will see. i hear willard is now under a marshall law which means anyone at anytime can be stopped for anything if look suspicious. drug dealers beware its time to make a stand!!!!!!!!!!!!

oh my God (Anon...

glad to see I'm not the only one who feels the way I do about these two. And to "who cares", I do and I know exactly who you are referring too also. Yeah, he did take the rap for this piece of rotten meat that they call a victim. He can't be put in jail because of his infections, which by the way are caused by himself. They don't want him going to the probation dept for fear of someone catching this cr*ap. So what does the judicial system do, make the one with no record except for this aiding charge he got for giving this low life a ride. Yes, he was guilty for that but to be the only one who recieved any kind of punishment, that is so messed up. Huron county judges, come on, and you are sending him to jail or prison for the next 5 to 6 months for not reporting, you've got to be kidding! We should go to the courthouse on the day he is to be sentenced and protest, anyone care to go. I'll look on the clerks page and see what time it is and we can all just meet there. Sounds like a plan to me. Come on almost 2 years later and this kid is still being punished for something the main man didn't even get jail time for and only 2 or 3 months probation. And is still dealing drugs. What is wrong with Huron county. I think its time to bring in some state officials. Anyone game?? And its not just him, she is as guilty as sin. Look what she did at her job here in willard, embezzelment. Guess most people don't know that and then only to do the same to his parents. Wonder what ever became of that business??? Hmmm...makes you wonder what goes on behind closed doors down there in the court house??? Hope to see everyone the 29th, lets protest!

yeah right (Ano...

it wasn't a robbery, just one junkie ripping off another. Happens everyday here in Willard. Just this one is a big cry baby and has the nerve to call the police, come on there, can we say p*ssy. How dare you get the police involved you worthless piece of dead meat, as someone else referred too you as. Grow some b*lls and be a man. If you are gonna live this kind of life then deal with it. How many people have you ripped off you slime bag and the same with your little wife. Shes a real winner too. Willard police, State highway patrol, and sheriffs office, why waste time and money on this. Get out here and get more of them off the street. Let them rob each other and kill each other, we'll be better off.

county will sen...

of course he will go to prison. Thats about $40,000 the county gets for sending him. They can't send the other one because the medical bills and qurentine will cost more than that. Sorry kid, thats how the system is!

to finally (Ano...

AMEN! And now lets make sure his victim from last Feb. 06 doesn't go to prison! He's paid enough for aiding & abetting already. If the so called victim had done anytime then what the other young man recieved so far would be just, but come on, not sentenced to one day in jail. I looked at these two cases, and I can not believe my eyes. I'll be at the court house on the 29th., anyone else. What the h*ll was McGimpsey and the adult parole authority thinking, do I hear pay off somewhere here?? Hopefully Conway will look at these two cases and see fit to not send him to prison or even do 1 day of jail time. Looks like this is his only charge but then look at the so called victims charges--come on lets get real Huron county! I'll be sure to watch the outcome of this case. Makes a person wonder what happens behind those judges chambers???

need a lawyer (...

sounds like a good lawyer would be fitting. What was his lawyer thinking, guess he wasn't thinking. Hopefully he didn't have to pay him an arm and a leg, just his freedom. Find a lawyer quickly, anyone care to offer advice.

finally.. (Anon...

to those of you willing to stand up for the young man facing jail time-GOOD LUCK!!as some one stated earlier that's our judicial system for you. they go after the little guys hoping to get at the big guys through them and when they won't "roll" or don't know anything helpfull for the police they just nail the little guys to the wall for whatever they can. in the mean time the big guys are still out there doing their thing and recruting new little guys to do the dirty work. i know because i have a family member doing a lengthy jail sentence right now because of this drug. it's not pretty people and if you suspect something going on with a family member or a freind you need to try and get them help right away! this will ruin a persons life or end it!! until we get rid of the dealers we will still have users, buyers and sellers.

county will sen...

the kids going to prison, protesting is not going to stop it. He evidently didn,t roll on someone like he was supposed to so he's down, dealer though is still dealing, isn't that right "Mr. Victim" from the corner of Willard west Rd. and Austin Dr.

hmmm... (Anonymous)

sounds like he is just as popular with others in this town as he is with me. Sounds like alot of you know about his bust in 06' and how he skated with a smack on the hand and his ride is still paying. He'll awnser to a judge someday that won't smack him on the hand but slap his worthless *ss right to hell. Hopefully sooner than later!

hmmm... (Anonymous)

didn't the "victim" get his heroin back, poor baby, lol.

to: to the one ...

Get real! Who r u trying to convince, us or yourself that they are not heroin & cocaine dealers. Its obvious u r related to them to stick up for them and try and make it look like "poor them". You are just as sick as they are and I hope they get what they have coming to them. You act like the cops are stupid and don't know whats been going on there for years. A crime was commited and they have to do their job so yes, they were right there. It would suck to get sued by the towns heroin dealers now wouldn't it. To bad they weren't there immediantly after, they had to clean up and then drive up to the willard police station to report it. I guess no one down there has a phone, huh? We all know they have a cell phone or two, guess they had to keep the lines free for business purposes, right! And as someone said earlier, there was no drugs because that is why they were robbed in the 1st. place, duh??
