HIGHWAY PATROL n No citation was issued Saturday after the U.S. 250, Greenwich Township, railroad tracks incident involving Donald A. Place, 76, of Clarkston, Mich. Place was stopped heading west waiting for a train and went across the tracks after the train cleared and the gates went up. The gates came back down and hit his sport utility vehicle and the mobile home trailer it was pulling.

HIGHWAY PATROL

n No citation was issued Saturday after the U.S. 250, Greenwich Township, railroad tracks incident involving Donald A. Place, 76, of Clarkston, Mich. Place was stopped heading west waiting for a train and went across the tracks after the train cleared and the gates went up. The gates came back down and hit his sport utility vehicle and the mobile home trailer it was pulling.

NORWALK FIRE

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 4:56 p.m. Thursday at 154 Whittlesey Ave. Returned to station at 5:10.

n Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 8:05 p.m. Thursday at 8 Madison St. Returned to station at 8:12.

n Responded to an alarm activation at 8:20 p.m. Thursday at 2961 Ridge Road, where there was a malfunctioning detector in the attic. Returned to station at 8:49.

NORWALK POLICE

n Murline Viar, 73, of 40 Glover St., was charged with failure to yield while making a left turn Thursday from Westwind Drive into a Milan Avenue business parking in the collision with the vehicle driven by Renee L. Martin, 25, of 6512 Hill Road, Berlin Heights. North Central EMS transported Viar to Fisher-Titus Medical Center with minor injuries and was released after being treated.

n A West Main Street business employee reported someone emptied the refrigerator Thursday.

n A local woman reported her 26-year-old daughter was missing Thursday and was last seen with a North Pleasant Street man. Police found the missing woman at a Newton Street apartment after getting a tip.

n Justin D. Owens, 19, of 105 Concord Court, was arrested on a carrying a concealed weapon warrant Thursday. He also was charged with driving with a suspended license and possession of marijuana in connection with an officer finding a small amount of dope in his right shorts pocket. Owens currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

n Mark Urbine, 33, whose address was unavailable, was charged with criminal trespassing in connection with a Bouscay Avenue disturbance Thursday.

n A West Seminary Street resident reported the theft of a bicycle Thursday and the theft of a charcoal grill about two weeks ago.

n The Sandusky Police Department reported having Sherri L. Rodriguez, 43, of Sandusky, in custody on a local contempt of court warrant Thursday. The original charge was driving without a license. She is serving a 30-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

n An area resident reported finding a Razor scooter abandoned at the intersection of Washington Street and Whittlesey Avenue today.

n Found a green and black Mongoose Rebel bicycle abandoned on the sidewalk near Pleasant Elementary School today while on patrol.

  

SHERIFF’S OFFICE

n An Ohio 162, Monroeville, resident reported someone attempted to get in her front door Thursday. She heard the screen door open, someone pushing on the interior door and fled toward “the Greenwich school.”

n An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported seeing a suspect smash her neighbor’s car windshield Thursday.

n A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported a loud music complaint Thursday.

n The Wakeman Police Department received a report from the Elyria post of the state Highway Patrol about a male suspect “snagging” a bicycle at a Wakeman-area party Thursday. Wakeman police will keep the bike until the owner can be located.

n An area motorist reported bringing home two children, 3 and 4, who were walking down the yellow line in the middle of Ohio 162, North Fairfield, Thursday. The man received no answer when he knocked on the door of the children’s West Main Street home.

n An area resident reported seeing a suspicious, dark blue Chevrolet pickup truck backed in between a Townsend Angling Road, Collins, church and the Townsend Township building near the stone pile Thursday.

n A West U.S. 224, New Haven, business employee reported the driver of a black Dodge drove off without paying for $22 worth of gasoline Thursday.

n An East Ohio 61 resident reported receiving a suspicious telephone call Thursday.

n The Federal Aviation Administration in Oberlin reported getting a call from an Exchange Road, New London, resident who reported “his house was being ‘dive bombed’ by airplanes” Thursday.

n The state Highway Patrol requested a deputy respond to an Ohio 18, Collins, accident where a suspect was attempting to leave Thursday.

n A U.S. 250 resident reported a neighbor dispute Thursday.

n Cari C. Cavello, 23, of 8 1/2 S. Main St., Willard, was charged with driving with a suspended license during a traffic stop Thursday at the intersection of Ohio 99 and Townline Road 12. She also was arrested on an Erie County Sheriff’s Office contempt of court warrant and turned over to an Erie County deputy. A relative was advised her vehicle was parked off the roadway to be picked up.

n A Neal Zick Road, resident reported her child’s father was threatening to take the child Thursday.

n An Ohio 99, Willard, resident reported her son left school during the day Thursday and was supposed to serve detention after school.

n A Firelands Electric employee reported the attempted theft of wire Thursday on Edwards Road, Greenwich.

n A North U.S. 250 resident reported a suspicious person Thursday.

n A South Norwalk Road reported seeing a man and woman get out of a vehicle parked at a nearby business and start walking toward Ridge Road on Thursday.

n The Richland County Sheriff’s Office transferred a call from an Ohio, 61, Plymouth, resident who head a nearby car alarm Thursday.
