It has been a pleasure to recently learn more about the Firelands Symphony Orchestra. The 2007-2008 season will be full of excitement as the search for a new music director/conductor takes place. That conductor search began this summer when 120 candidates applied for the position. The musicians' committee narrowed the to nine and after extensive telephone interviews, four finalists were selected to be guest conductors during the coming orchestral season.

The 2007-2008 season will be full of excitement as the search for a new music director/conductor takes place. That conductor search began this summer when 120 candidates applied for the position. The musicians' committee narrowed the to nine and after extensive telephone interviews, four finalists were selected to be guest conductors during the coming orchestral season.

The Northern Ohio area is fortunate to have talented musicians dedicated to making the Firelands Symphony a fine and respected regional orchestra. Subscribe now to the Orchestra's season by calling (419) 626-1950, and be there for opening night at 8 p.m. Oct. 6 at the Sandusky State Theatre in downtown Sandusky.
