Ohio State University Extension is offering the National Restaurant Association ServSafe food safety certification training in October.
When participants pass the exam they will be eligible to receive certification in food protection from the Ohio Department of Health.
Food service managers and employees should have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe food handling and the Ohio Food Code.
ServSafe food safety certification training will meet from noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 3, 10, 17, and 24. Sessions will be held in meeting room A on the lower level of the Huron County administration building, 180 Milan Avenue, Norwalk. Participants must attend all sessions to be eligible to take the certification exam which will be given on Oct. 31.
The cost has been reduced to $125 per person. The deadline to register is Sept. 21.
