Denise Berardi-Waaland and her husband, Larry, owners of Berardi's in Norwalk, have announced they are retiring after more than a combined 70 years in the food business.

The Waalands will sell the Norwalk Berardi's restaurant building on Cleveland Road at an auction Aug. 3 on site. Its catering operation will then move to the Norwalk VFW and eventually to the Huron restaurant.

A story with more details about the restaurant and couple's plans was published Thursday in the Norwalk Reflector. That restaurant will be missed. They had great food and was one of the only sit down restaurants left in town.
