Fremont Community Theatre's 52nd season opens this week

FREMONT - Fremont Community Theatre will open its 52nd season and 200th production with the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical revue "A Grand Night For Singing," on Friday. Performance will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and also on the following Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29.

FREMONT - Fremont Community Theatre will open its 52nd season and 200th production with the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical revue "A Grand Night For Singing," on Friday.

Performance will be at 8 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and also on the following Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29.

Matinee performances will be held at 2 p.m. this Sunday and the two following Sundays of Sept. 23 and 30.

Classics from some of Broadway's most popular Broadway musicals are featured in this take on the canon of Rodgers & Hammerstein. The duo is responsible for the music and lyrics for shows such as "The King and I," "South Pacific," "The Sound of Music" and "Carousel."

Songs included in the review are "Maria" from "The Sound of Music,"; "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair" and "If I Loved You" from "South Pacific"; "We Kiss in a Shadow" and "Hello, Young Lovers" from "The King and I" and the title song, "It's A Grand Night for Singing" from "State Fair."

Ticket prices are $12 for adults and $10 for seniors (55 and over) and students (high school age and younger). Call (419) 332-0695 for reservations.
