An Ohio man died Tuesday after being buried by corn in a grain silo in Clark County.
Authorities say Warren Mumma, 68, entered his grain silo at 6124 Lower Valley Pike, west of Springfield, to insert a secondary grain auger.
A main auger already was running. The corn inside the silo collapsed, trapping him, the Clark County sheriff’s office said.
A 911 call came in just after 4 p.m.
Rescuers from nearby Wright Patterson Air Force Base with specialized equipment assisted local crews in getting to Mumma’s body.
