Insurance to pay for M'ville fire department mishap

MONROEVILLE - Village council decided Tuesday the fire department's insurance company will have to pay for an accidental water line break that occurred during work performed by the department two weeks ago. Council members initially disagreed as to whether the village should waive the cost and pay for the repairs or the insurance company should fork over the roughly $3,000. The accident occurred during a training exercise, and was a first-time occurrence, clerk/treasurer Bonnie Beck said.
