Walter G. Ritchie, 33, of 13313 Arlington Road, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Wednesday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Justin A. Zielinski, 17, of 231 Monroe St., Monroeville, on Ohio 61 near Seminary Road.

Christina M. Rospert, 41, of 2140 Collins Road, hit a deer Thursday on Collins Road.

The following motorists hit deer Friday: Michelle M. Ruggles, 40, of 5900 Fox Glove Drive, New London, on County Road 16; and Janice L. Fell, 41, of 3350 Lehigh Road, on Ohio 18.

Karen M. Silcox, 40, of 283 Edwards Road, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after she hit the rear of the vehicle driven by Lisa J. Gillen, 38, of 2275 Old State Road, on the U.S. 20 off ramp.

NORWALK FIRE

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient having chest and abdominal pains at 12:29 p.m. Friday at 200 Bluegrass Drive. Returned to station at 12:36.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 7:29 p.m. Friday at 78 Wooster St. Returned to station at 7:47.

Found no problems during a smoke detector malfunction investigation at 6:30 a.m. Saturday at 7 Deer Track Trail. Returned to station at 6:40.

Shut off the circuit breaker for a ceiling light near leaking rain water at 7:26 p.m. Sunday at 5144 U.S. 250. Returned to station at 8.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:39 p.m. Sunday at 35 Vinewood St. Returned to station at 11:59.

Responded to a false alarm related to a water sprinkler at 2:28 a.m. today at 50 Newton St. Returned to station at 3:10.

NORWALK POLICE

Joseph E. Coley, 20, Nicole M. Coley, 21, and Jonathan E. Herring, 23, whose addresses were unavailable, were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Benedict Avenue fight Friday. Joseph Coley also was charged with underage consumption.

Eugene F. Wilson, 42, 10 E. Main St., was arrested on three undisclosed warrants during a Cline Street traffic stop Friday when he was the passenger. He is serving a 40-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Deborah France, whose age and address was unavailable, was charged with driving with a suspended license during a traffic stop Friday at a parking lot on State and Clifton streets. The vehicle owner and back-seat passenger, John D. Mussell, whose age and address was unavailable, was charged with unlawful entrustment.

Timothy D. Belcher, 45, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a North Linwood Avenue incident Friday and released to a sober adult.

William D. Ott, 47, whose address was unavailable, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and obstruction of official business in connection with an Old State Road incident Saturday. He was held in the city jail until sober.

An area resident reported the theft of his daughter's white Next bicycle Saturday from the Norwalk Public Library.

Responded to the report of an intoxicated male suspect Saturday at the intersection of Woodlawn Avenue and Pine Street. Joshua J. Campagna, 25, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct, arrested on a warrant out of Shelby and transferred to the Shelby Police Department.

Responded to a "shoving match" in front of a Benedict Avenue business Saturday. Police later arrested one of two male suspects who ran around the south side of the building heading east down the railroad tracks. Andrew D. Braden, 20, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct and underage consumption and released to his mother.

Timothy D. Belcher, 45, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with being disruptive at a Whittlesey Avenue business Saturday. He was held in the city jail until sober.

Responded to a 9-1-1 hang-up call Saturday from Federal Street, where a child was playing with the telephone. Police who responded heard two people arguing inside the apartment. Matthew L. Fisher, 29, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct and taken into protective custody.

Teresa M. Lemar, 36, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct Sunday and released to her son.

Found a red, black and gray Singletrack bicycle abandoned at a Whittlesey Avenue business near Ohio Street on Sunday.

The state Highway Patrol requested assistance at the intersection of Prospect and Railroad streets Sunday. Trevor D. Key, 21, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct and held in the city jail until sober. He said he was on the way to stab a woman when he noticed patrol cars and threw two knives in a grassy area in front of a business, where an officer checked with negative results.

Responded to the report of two disruptive Whittlesey Avenue business patrons Sunday. Monte L. Hall Jr., 31, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct and released to a sober person.

Miguel S. Santiz, 24, of 4 Fuller Drive, was charged with domestic violence Sunday.

Carlos L. Contreras, 28, of 82 N. Foster St., was arrested on three warrants Sunday and charged with failure to pay restitution on a passing bad checks charge. He is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

Angela M. Frias, 26, whose address was unavailable, was transferred from the Sandusky Police Department on two local warrants Sunday. She was charged with failure to appear on the charges of failure to control and driving with a suspended license and released.

SHERIFF'S OFFICE

The Wakeman Police Department requested assistance with a suicidal male suspect with access to weapons Friday on West Main Street, Wakeman. Three deputies and the state Highway Patrol responded.

An off-duty Norwalk detective reported following a suspected drunk driver in a green pickup truck on U.S. 20 outside of Wakeman.

A Zenobia Road, Wakeman, resident reported her foster child was missing Friday and suspected she was in the Norwalk area.

An area resident reported a suspicious vehicle parked at the cell tower on U.S. 20, Bellevue, east of Ohio 4 Friday.

The Norwalk Police Department reported taking a report of a South Old State Road burglary Friday.

Notified of forced entry at an unoccupied construction site Friday on Monroe Road, Wakeman.

A North Meadow Lane resident reported vandalism Friday.

Responded with North Central EMS to a male patient unable to breathe Friday on Halfway Road, Monroeville.

A West Peru Olena Road resident reported a loud music complaint Friday.

A Gibbs Road resident reported a domestic incident involving a male suspect accused of being intoxicated Saturday. The complainant requested a deputy accompany her so she could return and get her 2-month-old baby.

An area resident accused a Gregory Road, Willard, business patron of stealing his key ring Saturday.

A DeRussey Road, New London, resident reported someone rummaged though the center console and glove box of her vehicle and stole her purse Saturday.

An East U.S. 20, Wakeman, resident reported her 8-year-old child was being unruly Saturday and hadn't been to school in three days.

The Oberlin Police Department reported having Sharon Keller, 54, of 4441 Egypt Road, Willard, in custody on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant Saturday. She was charged with failure to appear on the original contempt of court charge. Keller is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

The Oberlin Police Department reported having Sean Keller, 20, of Cleveland, in custody on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant Saturday. He was charged with failure to appear on the original charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Keller currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

A Zenobia Road, Wakeman, resident reported finding someone's checkbook, checks and receipt in a ditch while mowing her lawn Saturday.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident accused someone of touching female juveniles inappropriately Saturday.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office reported having Joseph Loken, 31, of Sandusky, in custody on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant Saturday. He was charged with failure to report to jail. Loken is serving a 30-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Peru Olena Road resident reported someone keyed his vehicle Saturday.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported a suspicious male accused of "showing too much attention to the juvenile females in the park" Saturday.

Dispatchers were advised to disregard a false alarm activation Saturday on Maple Ridge Road, Willard.

A West Main Street, North Fairfield, resident reported juveniles were in the street Saturday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a suspicious teenage male who came to her door asking to use her telephone Saturday. Dispatchers later got a second call about the suspect acting strangely at a second complainant's home.

A Plank Road resident reported telephone harassment Saturday.

A New State Road, North Fairfield, resident reported her power was out Sunday and a tree branch fell on the power lines, causing a spark. Another complainant called later to report power was out in the village.

A New Haven Township trustee reported a suspicious vehicle parked at an abandoned May Road, Willard, home Sunday.

An area resident reported a burglary at his father's Thomas Road, Willard, home Sunday.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident accused someone of peeping into windows Sunday.

A Gibbs Road resident reported neighbors were disturbing the peace by starting a tractor Sunday.
