Here's your chance to enjoy the squabbles of an unlikely pair of roommates, and help the Firelands Computer Club all in one day.

Workshop Players Theatre-in-the-Round in Amherst has scheduled a 3 p.m. Sept. 16 benefit performance of Neil Simon' s "The Odd Couple," with proceeds going toward the club's supplies and service projects. Recent projects have included joining the Huron County Recycling Program for a county-wide electronics collection and donating a CRT monitor to the Salvation Army Learning Zone.

The club bought out the seats for the performance and is selling them for $12 each. This year marks the second in a row the Firelands Computer Club partnered with Workshop Players to put on a benefit performance.

Last year's production was "You Can't Take it With You," a comedy by George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart.

"A lot of people had never been to the theater before and they really enjoyed it," club treasurer Bonnie Goodman said.

Sharon Monos, the theater's business manager, said Workshop Players has been conducting these fundraisers for a number of years. The theater schedules two or three extra performances for the benefits.

"It's worth our while to do it because it's such a good will gesture," she said. "It's been really a terrific way for our theater and actors to do other performances." IF YOU GO
