William J. Camp, 68, of 74 N. Foster St., hit a deer Friday on Old State Road.

Troopers are investigating a crash Friday on Ohio 61 in which an unknown white pickup truck went left of center and hit the driver's side mirror of the pickup truck driven by Scott C. Sowders, 36, of 1306 S. Norwalk Road. The driver continued heading north without stopping.

Theresa K. Collins, 52, of 11917 Potter Road, Bellevue, hit a deer Saturday on U.S. 20.

Andrew J. Ault, 26, of Columbus, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Saturday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Donald H. Woolf Jr., 57, of Sandusky, at the intersection of U.S. 250 and Ohio 162.

Jeffrey M. Branham, 31, of 4299 Sherman Norwich Road, Willard, was charged with driving under the influence and failure to control Sunday after he went off the right side of Bauman Road and hit a utility pole. He continued forward into a corn field before stopping. Branham reported minor injuries, but wasn't transported.

NORWALK FIRE

Responded to 185 Shady Lane Drive at 1:15 p.m. Friday for an alarm activation where smoke from a sewer line entered the bathroom through a dry trap and alerted the occupants. Before firefighters arrived, an employee discharged a dry powder fire extinguisher into a waste receptacle recessed in the wall because it was believed the trash inside was on fire. Returned to station at 1:40.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 2:41 p.m. Friday at 20 Fairwood Ave. Returned to station at 2:55.

Responded to a two-vehicle accident at 5:51 p.m. Friday in front of 230 Milan Ave. where none of the occupants needed treatment. Returned to station at 6:30.

Responded to the report of a car-bicycle accident at 6:53 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Westwind Drive and Milan Avenue, but firefighters found no incident upon arrival. Returned to station at 7:30.

Assisted North Central EMS with a patient at 11:54 p.m. Saturday at 26 Spring St. Returned to station at 12:19 a.m.

Assisted North Central EMS with the care and transport of a patient at 9:01 a.m. Sunday at 26 Spring St. Returned to station at 9:30.

Timothy W. Cox, 41, of 67 S. Main St., Milan, was charged with improper backing in the collision Wednesday with the vehicle driven by Jennifer L. Jones, 23, of 394 Cleveland Road, Apt. 13B, at the intersection of East Bluegrass Drive and Republic Street.

Owen M. Haney, 68, of Springfield, was charged with failure to maintain assured clear distance Friday after he hit the rear of the stopped vehicle driven by Anna Mormina, 37, of Sandusky, on Milan Avenue.

Michael Deleon, 32, of 1 Second St., Norwalk, was arrested on a warrant Friday and charged with failure to report to jail on a driving under the influence charge. He was released from the Huron County Jail after serving a three-day sentence.

Sent information about a 2003 tax complaint involving a female suspect to the Norwalk Law Director's office for review Friday.

A Grand Avenue resident reported the theft of her 1996 Buick Regal on Friday.

Contacted a Woodlawn Avenue resident Friday about owing $64 in back taxes from 2005 and investigated a separate tax complaint involving a Whittlesey Avenue resident the same day.

A Deer Track Trail resident reported the theft of his brown leather wallet Friday after someone shattered the glass on his driver's side door Friday.

A Jefferson Street resident reported the theft of two Infinity speakers and Basuka chrome-colored amplifier from the back hatch of his locked truck Friday. The items are valued at about $1,100.

Ryan Wright, 49, of Toledo, was arrested on two local warrants Friday as he was being released from the Lucas County Jail. He was charged with failure to pay fines and costs. Wright was released the same day from the Huron County Jail.

Assisted a Huron County Juvenile Court probation officer in arresting a female juvenile suspect Friday on North West Street. She was turned over to the Huron County Sheriff's Office.

Scott D. Mackey, whose age and address were unavailable, was charged with driving with a suspended license and an equipment violation in connection with a Fruen Street traffic stop Friday. He also was charged with obstruction of official business in connection with giving an officer a false date of birth.

Joseph M. Turek, 22, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Benedict Avenue business incident Saturday and was released to a sober person.

Rhett D. Giordano, 34, of Palm Coat, Fla., was arrested on a Volusia County Sheriff's Office warrant Saturday after an officer heard a motorcycle speeding behind a Benedict Avenue business. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail awaiting extradition.

John A. Self, 35, of Mansfield, was arrested on a local warrant Saturday at the Morrow County Jail and charged with failure to pay fines and costs. He currently is in custody at the Huron County Jail.

An area resident reported the theft of his Verizon cell phone Saturday.

A Bouscay Avenue resident reported discovering a cut mark on the side wall of her flat, right front tire Saturday.

A Corwin Street resident reported the theft of her white 1995 Jeep Cherokee on Saturday. The park ranger said he would check the entire reservoir area for the vehicle. An area motorist later reported to the Huron County Sheriff's Office the Jeep was in a Lamereaux Road, Monroeville, ditch.

A Maple Street resident reported the theft of his black 1995 Volvo 960 station wagon Saturday. The key was in the center console.

A South Linwood Avenue resident reported someone used a sledge hammer to smash the driver's side window of her 1998 Chevrolet Silverado on Saturday. She also reported missing a pair of Oakley sunglasses, an iPod with adapter, a three-stone diamond necklace and one diamond ring, all valued at about $1,050.

Christopher M. Bruner, 28, and Mark L. Stanford, 43, whose addresses were unavailable, were charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Bank Street business fight Sunday and were released to a sober person.

Karla M. Christoff, 35, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with a Whittlesey Avenue incident Sunday and released to her fianc.

Bryan D. Lindenberger, 19, whose address was unavailable, was charged with underage consumption Sunday after an officer responded to the report of shots being fired on Baker Street. He was released to a relative.

Dispatched North Central EMS to Valley Park Drive, where a resident was found dead Sunday. There were no signs of foul play.

Edward E. Blair, 31, whose address was unavailable, was charged with an open container violation in connection with a Grand Avenue incident Sunday.

Nathan R. Olvera, 25, whose address was unavailable, was charged with disorderly conduct in connection with shattering a Glover Avenue window during a disturbance Sunday.

Michael R. Chafee, 29, whose address was unavailable, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia as the passenger in a North Pleasant Street traffic stop Sunday. Police gave a warning to the driver about having a loud exhaust.

Three witnesses reported seeing a male suspect, in his late 40s to early 50s, in a black Ford Ecort ZX-2 chasing a girl, between 8 and 11 years old, who ran north from a Milan Avenue business Sunday. Before police arrived, one witness drove north on Milan Avenue, but lost track of the vehicle and girl. Police notified surrounding authorities and requested officers check on the girl's well-being.

An area resident reported finding an abandoned Next bicycle near the Newton Street railroad tracks Sunday. It later was returned to the owner.

Charged a 12-year-old boy with shoplifting a soda from a Whittlesey Avenue business Sunday and released him to his mother. Police forwarded a report to the Huron County Prosecutor's office and Huron County Juvenile Court.

Steve E. Jensen, 46, whose address was unavailable, was charged with an open container violation and driving with an expired license in connection with a traffic stop Sunday at the intersection of Whittlesey Avenue and East League Street. Police told Jensen to contact a licensed driver to take control of his vehicle.

An area motorist reported the theft of $235 in cash and $375 worth of compact discs from her unlocked vehicle while she was eating at an East Main Street restaurant Sunday.

A Westwind Drive business manager reported a customer reported being followed in the store Sunday, but the suspect left before an officer's arrival. The incident remains under investigation.

Robert D. Williams, 52, of 2638 Ohio 61, New Haven, was arrested on a Lorain County warrant Friday and released to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office.

A Neal Zick Road, Willard, resident reported a suspicious pickup truck was sitting in front of his home Friday.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call about a Hartland Center Road, Collins, resident's daughter sneaking out of the house Friday. The complainant later reported a suspected underage driver went through a neighbor's corn field and yard with her daughter in the gold Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Dispatchers received a 9-1-1 call from a Plymouth East Road, Greenwich, resident who reported a male suspect wearing only a shirt in a light green four-door car exposed himself to his daughter who was riding her bicycle along the road Friday. The complainant said the same type of incident happened to her older daughter two weeks ago.

A Court Road resident reported household items and equipment were missing and vehicle vandalism after a burglary Friday.

Responded to a disabled vehicle that later was towed from Ohio 598, Willard, Friday.

Jay M. Lucal, 32, of 32 Glover Ave., was arrested on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant Friday and charged with failure to report to jail. He is serving a five-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Zenobia Road, Wakeman, resident reported a suspected burglary Sunday.

The Elyria Police Department reported arresting Angelina Reale, 48, of Elyria, on a local contempt of court warrant Sunday during an Ohio 598, Oberlin, traffic stop. She was charged with failure to report to jail. Reale is serving a 10-day sentence at the Huron County Jail.

A Baseline Road, Willard, business employee accused someone of selling drugs to the workers Sunday.

The Richland County Sheriff's Office reported arresting Concepcion Hernandez, 18, of 230 Plymouth St., on a Huron County Juvenile Court warrant and Robert Belt, of 18, of 516 S. Myrtle Ave., Willard, on a Huron County Adult Parole Authority holder Sunday. Hernandez is serving a 30-day sentence at the Huron County Jail on an assault charge. Belt also remains in custody.

Responded to the report of four to five juvenile suspects of entering an abandoned U.S. 20, Monroeville, building Sunday. There were gone by the time a deputy arrived.
