A man accused of stabbing a male victim faces two to eight years in prison if convicted.

John W. Stewart, 44, of 48A Cline St., goes to trial May 30 in Huron County Common Pleas Court. He is charged with felonious assault in connection with a Feb. 28 incident investigated by the Norwalk Police Department.

"The victim provoked the fight. The fight occurred inside the defendant's residence," defense attorney Tom Freeman said at Monday's arraignment.

Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Richard Woodruff said the actual stabbing, which caused serious injuries, happened outside.

Stewart must post a $15,000 bond before being released from the Huron County Jail. He is prohibited from having any association with the victim.

John is a local and a milan boy.. Family all around.. Why make him sit in jail, while waiting for court.. My goosh.. this court releases heroin addicts for free so they can get stoned some more. Let the guy get to his job and life till the mess gets straightened up.. My forecast.. Yes he will be found guilty.. cuz he did do it. It will be time served, some fine cash and probation.. My opinion. so why have him locked in county costing us much more than any fine will be.. Also what about the nephew.. Is he locked up?.. Is he a productive citizen?

Is stabbing an option in an argument? Since when?
