A Norwalk driver's breath tested over the legal limit in connection with a local traffic stop early Sunday.

Jacob B. Ackerman, 23, of 8 Quail Hollow Drive, was stopped by Sgt. Brian Gockstetter, of the state Highway Patrol, for speeding and a marked lanes violation. The traffic stop happened at 2:45 a.m. at the intersection of Milan Avenue and Westwind Drive.

Ackerman tested at .135 percent for alcohol, and he was charged with driving under the influence, his first such offense, the trooper reported. The legal limit for drivers in Ohio is .08 percent.

Gockstetter issued a warning about speeding and the marked lanes violation.

Will Ackerman learn from this experience or will he continue to drink and drive and possibly kill someone the next time?
