A Monroeville teenager was suspected of being under the influence of drugs during a traffic stop this week.

Dalton J. Parrott, 18, of 1459 N. Peru Center Road, was stopped for having his left front headlight out about 11:15 p.m. Tuesday. Trooper Evan Stevens, of the state Highway Patrol's Norwalk post, made the traffic stop on Ohio 269.

Stevens reported finding a bong on the floor of the rear passenger seat and said he suspected Parrott was under the influence of drugs. The results of a urine sample are pending.

Parrott was charged with driving under the influence, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and a seatbelt violation. The trooper warned him about the headlight.
