HIGHWAY PATROL

Michael L. Staniec, 54, of Medina, was operating a vehicle that struck a deer Tuesday on Ohio 18.

Megan M. Phillips, 20, of Centralia, Ill., was cited for right-of-way at a stop sign Wednesday on Townline Road 187 after her vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Richard D. Paisley, 20, of 22 Shady Side Drive, New London.

Jeffrey S. Stanfield, 21, of 4500 Willard West Road, Willard, was cited for failure to yield at a stop sign Wednesday on U.S. 224 after his vehicle struck a vehicle driven by Brian K. Maibach, 42, Creston. Stanfield was transported to Mercy Hospital of Willard by Willard Fire.

Jason A. Kruki, 37, of 1041 Chenango Road, Wakeman, was cited Wednesday on Townline Road 183 for rules for backing after he backed his trailer into a ditch.

Virginia J. Higley, 78, of 3216 Hartland-Center Road, Collins, was cited for left of center Thursday on Ohio 18 after the vehicle she was driving struck a vehicle driven by Shaun M. Madden, 35, of Oregon.

James D. Allen, 25, of 405 Keefer St., Willard, was cited Thursday on Townline Road 12 after his vehicle exited the roadway and struck a ditch.

NORWALK FIRE

Responded to 107 Townsend Ave. at 3:55 p.m. Thursday because of a tree limb on the roadway. Returned to station at 4:45.

Assisted at an accident scene on Ohio 18 at 3:59 p.m. Thursday. Returned to station at 4:10.

Responded to a Scranton Road location at 12:32 p.m. Thursday after lightning had set a utility pole on fire. The fire was out upon arrival and Ohio Edison was contacted. Returned to station at 12:54.

NORWALK POLICE

Steven Skiver, 22, no address available, was arrested today while already at the county jail on a local warrant for trafficking marijuana.

Joseph A. Story, 23, no address available, was arrested today for criminal damaging after he allegedly shattered a window at an Uptown Norwalk business.

Crawford Yancy, 36, no address available, was arrested Thursday on two local warrants for failure to pay fines and costs. He must sit 10 days at the county jail.

Sandra D. Strader, 50, no address available, was given a court summons Thursday for passing bad checks.

Shaun M. Lykins, 22, no address available, was arrested Thursday on a local warrant for failure to pay fines and costs on the original charge of disorderly conduct. He was transported to the county jail.

James A. Stewart Jr., 20, no address available, was arrested Thursday on a Sandusky Municipal Court warrant for failure to pay fines and costs. He was transported to Sandusky police.

Police reported a "Welcome to Norwalk" sign was missing from the edge of the city on West Main Street Thursday.

A Newton Street resident told police Thursday two bicycles were stolen from the residence.

Assisted several fire departments at a fire on Ohio 103 near Willard Thursday.

A Peru Olena Road resident reported vandalism Thursday.

Performed traffic control at a U.S. 250 church Thursday.

An Ohio 61, Norwalk, resident reported a stolen dumpster Thursday.

Performed a welfare check at a Greenwich Milan Townline Road address Thursday.

A Section Line Road 30, Willard, resident reported several suspicious vehicles Thursday.

Performed a welfare check at an Ohio 61 residence Thursday.

Performed a welfare check at an Old State Road residence Thursday.

An Ohio 103, Willard, resident reported a suspicious person Thursday.
