Forgery case dismissed in 'best interest of justice'

Woman faces no charges in 'much more complicated case' than prosecutors anticipated.

A Norwalk woman originally arrested on forgery charges had her case dismissed recently in Huron County Common Pleas Court.

Jennifer Lang, 39, of 5 Westwind Drive, was employed at Rogers Rides, which is located on U.S. 250 across from the former Cook's store, according to Huron County Sheriff's Detective Josh Querin.

Querin said Detective John Harris conducted the forgery investigation back in September.

But things changed once the investigation moved forward, causing the case to be dismissed.

"This turned out to be a much more complicated case," Prosecutor Russell Leffler said Thursday.

Prosecutors said "after further investigation, the case was dismissed in the best interest of justice."

Wtf so what were the complications?

Ehovemom

Exactly - this makes no sense. Checks were altered - someone did something wrong!

That's fine, she will probably not be hired locally and end up being a benefactor of our wonderful social safety hammocks and live a better life than you or I!

Well before anyone opens the comments get the facts and realize that not everything the paper writes is the truth. I know Jen and her family and this was dropped due to the FACT it didn't happen and she was being use as a scapegoat....just an FYI

R U Kidding me

I wish I could go to work and say I'm not doing that cause that job is to complicated

I can't pay me taxes, because the forms are too complicated to figure out. So, instead of screwing everything up by making a mistake, it's best if I do nothing.

So she was accused of something, and all the trolls come out bashing her. Now that it was found that there was no wrong doing on her part, you still wanna come out and bash her. I'm amazed at the level of ignorant stupidity in this town. Why is it that none of you trolls feel better unless you're bashing someone else?

Uputwhatwhere7

The paper is always right. Don't you know that?

"Jennifer Lang, an employee there at Rogers Rides, was getting checks for the company and if the check was for $300, for example, she was putting a '1' in front of the '3' and then cashing the checks," Querin said.

"She admitted to Detective Harris she did this on four occasions," he said. "She was altering the checks and then cashing them for more money."

@ betrump
You need to look up the definitions of accused and admitting.

betrump

She did that at her boss' request. It was his business' money, and his checks. She was just doing what she was asked.

ladydye_5

It did NOT say she did nothing...says they found a more complicated case.

Uputwhatwhere7

That is the way they say they screwed up and she wasn't doing anything wrong. Why else would they drop charges?

Chef Mike

betrump, thou middle name is irony. You call an entire town ignorant and stupid, call them trolls, and then complain that people bash others.

Now that's funny right there.

Typical of the left though, you think that name calling is a form of argument.

betrump

The only way I can possibly fit in with you people is if I'm hypocritical.

doc5798a

And then Chef Mike does the same thing by saying the left are the ones who name call. LMAO.

"Detective Harris did an excellent job," Querin said.

All that excellent work and money spent on the investigation is now down the drain.

Swiss....I am in the medical field and we have HIPPA laws that stop us from talking to anyone about calls....SO HOW DO YOU KNOW what was said in this case from Detective Harris???? I know they have laws too...so guess they should check on that part and see why he is talking to you about a case??? Just wondering

Uputwhatwhere7

Uh that was a quote from the original article.

ladydye_5

Most of the info was in this article or the original.

Well I do know she never admitted to anything and that is why no charges were placed. She is trying to put this misunderstanding behind her and her family and move on. Just wish people would worry about their own backyard. Thanks and have a great day.

It's a Jeep thing

I used to be very very close with this family. I'm gladThis was dropped. They are going through enough anyways. Rogers rides is a shotty operation anyhow.
