After careful discussion, the Maple City Heritage Festival committee has decided to postpone its festival until next year, the committee announced in an e-mail this morning. The target date for the postponed festival is now Sept. 20 and 21, 2008.

Several factors contributed to the decision to adjourn the festival until 2008. The committee is thankful for the support given by area businesses and organizations and they welcome further community support.

The group looks forward to 2008, when the family friendly festival still plans to honor the Ernsthausen family, the founders of the Norwalk Truck Line Company that started the city's "Trucker" heritage.
