Gerald B. Chandler, 29, of 309 Dale Ave., Willard, is charged theft from the elderly in connection with an incident about the end of December.
"He allegedly took some jewelry, some coins and a pistol," defense attorney David Longo said.
Authorities eventually recovered the gun. Longo said Chandler didn't use the pistol in the "property crime" in which nobody was injured.
The defendant earlier pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property in Crawford County.
Longo said the conviction is for the same set of circumstances involving the same victim, a relative.
Chandler's trial date is April 18. The judge set his bond at $5,000 with a 10-percent provision.
