A spaghetti dinner benefit for Ron Akers will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Plymouth American Legion, 112 Trux St., Plymouth.
The event includes a silent auction from 4 to 8 p.m., a 50/50 drawing, and a DJ will entertain from 7 to 11 p.m. The spaghetti dinners include salad, garlic bread and rolls, water, coffee and punch. Cost is $8 per dinner.

Akers has been diagnosed with lymphoma, which will require chemotherapy treatments. Proceeds from the benefit will assist his family with medical expenses.
