Caryl Crane tryouts set for Monday

If you think you have what it takes, you can audition for the Caryl Crane Children's Theatre production of "Alice in Wonderland' from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. Monday and Tuesday. Roles are available for ages 10 through adult. Those auditioning should read the story and be familiar with the characters and plot. Play scripts are on closed-reserve at the BGSU Firelands library.

If you think you have what it takes, you can audition for the Caryl Crane Children’s Theatre production of “Alice in Wonderland” from 8:30 to 11:45 a.m. Monday and Tuesday.

Roles are available for ages 10 through adult. Those auditioning should read the story and be familiar with the characters and plot. Play scripts are on closed-reserve at the BGSU Firelands library.

The cast will perform award-winning playwright Charlotte B. Chorpenning’s dramatization of the world renowned children’s literary classic.

In the story, Alice chases the rabbit down the rabbit hole and discovers  Wonderland, where everything is timeless. She meets a White Rabbit, Caterpillar, Frog-Footman, March Hare, Mad Hatter, Dormouse, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, King and Queen of Hearts and more.

Rehearsals will begin July 30 and will run from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday through Aug. 17. On Aug. 20, rehearsals will switch to 6 to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday until the performances at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 7 and 8, and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 9. Performances will take place in BGSU Firelands’ McBride Auditorium.

The director is Dr. Ronald R. Ruble, Caryl Crane Children’s Theatre’s artistic director.
