WAKEMAN - Dive teams are being called in for a suspected drowning Sunday night at the Hostile Valley campground, 4653 N. Ohio 60.

Huron County Sheriff's Major Greg Englund said the Brecksville dive team will bring their sonar equipment to the campground pond to search for Ronald Link 60, of Wakeman. The Wakeman Fire District and two dive teams searched the pond for several hours after the suspected drowning was reported at 8:45 p.m.

Link's wife said the family was playing volleyball when her husband went into the pond to cool off. "She saw him go in, but not come out," Englund said.

Another relative reported seeing Link jump into the water and swim toward a diving board, but didn't see him turn around to head back toward the shore.

Link's wife told deputies her husband had been hospitalized earlier for heart problems.

"We have not located the person as of this time," Englund said this morning.

Fire Chief Jim Tansey couldn't be reached for comment.
