Are you over 65 or disabled? You may be able to lower your property taxes.

Certain eligibility requirements:

1. Age 65 by Dec. 31, 2007, or permanently or totally disabled regardless of age.

2. Own the home or manufactured home as a primary place of residence as of Jan. 1 in year of application.

3. Photocopy of picture ID for proof of age such as driver's license, State of Ohio ID or a current or expired passport. If the home is in a trust, a photocopy of the ownership page of the trust.

Eligible senior citizens or permanently disabled homeowners' will receive an exemption on the first $25,000 of appraised value from taxation for a single family home.

Applications will be available at your local library, Norwalk and Willard Senior Enrichment Centers, Monroeville and Norwalk utility offices also online at tax.ohio.gov.

Applications must be received by Oct. 1, 2007.
