A Willard man must post a $50,000 bond before being released from custody on a felonious assault charge.

Librado Ramos, 65, of 2948 Neal Zick Road, Lot 42, is accused of assaulting a 19-year-old man with a two-by-four during a June 17 domestic altercation involving Ramos, his son and the victim, Norwalk Assistant Law Director T. Douglas Clifford said. The prosecutor declined to say why Ramos hit the person, who sustained injuries to his head and face.

The Huron County Sheriff's Office arrested Ramos on the felonious assault warrant July 7.

"It took a little while to pick him up. I don't know why," Clifford said.

On Friday, Ramos waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Norwalk Municipal Court and had his case transferred to Huron County Common Pleas Court. Waiving the hearing means the suspect could face a future grand jury indictment.
