Police determined someone assaulted a 33-year-old man near a Norwalk bar this weekend, but officers didn't get much cooperation from the possible witnesses.

Members of the Norwalk Police Department responded to Charlie's Bar, 54 Benedict Ave., for the report of a disturbance in the side parking lot. The call came in at 2:29 a.m. Saturday and police arrived two minutes later.

"I located an unresponsive male lying on the ground, just to the north of the building," Officer Timothy Skinner wrote in his report.

"Responding officers received little cooperation from the large crowd that was scattering as officers arrived. It was later learned the subject was assaulted by another patron," the officer reported.

North Central EMS transported the man to Fisher-Titus Medical Center for treatment. He later was transferred to the University of Toledo Medical Center. The patient's condition was unavailable as of press time.

The incident remains under investigation.

Ban Alcohol there are more alcohol related deaths in america than with guns, and lets dont forget there are over a 1,000,000 more deaths from abortions than guns also. So all the liberals need to jump on the right ban wagon....

What I hate is that most of the time, people get to bars by driving their cars. What do you do at the bar? Drink. So to get home, they have to drive. Even when people don't think they're drunk, they're more drunk than they think. That, or they're too drunk to care if they drive that way. I don't think anything good can come from going to bars.

And alcohol makes people do stupid things.

And alcohol makes stupid people act like complete morons.

hmmmm something seems obviously wrong here... awhile ago when there were several disturbances at Rupp's bar the city threatened to close them down... Now Charlie's seems to be having troubles... fights, people passed out in the lot etc, and yet no threat of closing them down.... are we now doing selective enforcement of authority???? it SURE LOOKS LIKE IT...in my opinion
