'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' takes stage in Bellevue

BELLEVUE - Bellevue Society for the Arts Teen Theater will present "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" Thursday through Sunday. The show, a musical version of the Biblical story of Joseph and his brothers, was written in 1968 by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, of "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Evita," "Cats" and 'Phantom of the Opera" fame.

BELLEVUE - Bellevue Society for the Arts Teen Theater will present "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" Thursday through Sunday.

The show, a musical version of the Biblical story of Joseph and his brothers, was written in 1968 by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, of "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Evita," "Cats" and 'Phantom of the Opera" fame.

Much of the show's music has become enduringly popular. "Any Dream Will Do" is currently (June 24, 2007) listed as the No. 2 song on British popular charts, being closely nosed-out by Jay-Z.

Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for students. You can purchase them by calling (419) 484-ARTS.
