Huron County Dog Warden Gary Ousley met with the county commissioners, sharing a report of his department's activities.
Ousley said the dog warden's office handled 379 dogs in 2012, with 159 being adopted out, 108 were claimed, while 98 were euthanized.
Six dogs were also carried over to 2013.
Ousley added dog-tag sales totaled $162,901 in 2012, which was within $458 of the 2011 total.
"Our goal is to adopt-out dogs," he said. "We don't want to put down dogs."
