First Presbyterian, Norwalk

This Sunday during the 9:30 morning worship service, the children and teachers will share highlights of Vacation Bible School 2007. The Rev. Adrian Doll will continue in the summer preaching series, "Proverbs: Ancient Wisdom for Living Today."

The church hosts its annual church picnic immediately following the worship service. Come to church dressed casually and join us for fellowship, fun, games and good food. Bring a covered dish to share. The church will provide hot dogs, hamburgers and corn-on-the-cob.

St. Mary/St. Anthony

Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Anthony.

The Mass schedule for both parishes will change next weekend. Masses at St. Anthony will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturdays and 8:30 a.m. Sundays. Mass at St. Mary will be at 10:30 a.m. Sundays.

A picnic for both parishes is scheduled for July 7 at Edison Park in Milan. Mass will be celebrated at 4:30 p.m. at the shelter, with the picnic to follow. Bring a covered dish and place settings. Meat and drinks will be provided, along with games for children and adults.

Steuben UCC

STEUBEN Steuben Congregational United Church of Christ and its members will be "on vacation" Sunday. No service will be held that day. The church will return to its regular schedule July 8.

July 8 is the Sixth Sunday after Pentecost. The scripture lessons, based on the theme "Joy Expressed," are 2 Kings 5:1-14; Psalm 30; Galatians 6:(1-6), 7-16; and Luke 10:1-11, 16-20. Lay members of the congregation will lead worship this Sunday at the 11 a.m. service while the pastor is on vacation.

Norwalk Church of Christ

The 10:30 a.m. Sunday lesson will be "The Promises of God."

The 6 p.m. Sunday lesson features the beginning of a series of lessons on the churches of the New Testament.

This church also had Bible studies for all ages at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. More information is available at norwalkchurch.org.

St. Paul Catholic, Norwalk

The church will celebrate Spanish Mass at 1:30 p.m. Sunday. Blood pressures will be taken after the 11 a.m. Mass and 1:30 p.m. Spanish Mass this weekend.

The rosary will be recited in the church at 1 and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The July 4 Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. at the church. There will be no 6:15 a.m. or 5 p.m. Masses.

A mission trip is scheduled for Honduras for Sept 22 to 29. Ten people are needed to help with construction projects on the campus of the Loma De Luz Hospital in Balfate, Honduras. Call John Riley at (419) 668-4795 for more information.

First Baptist, Wakeman

WAKEMAN This church, located at 4382 Butler Road, meets for Bible study at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday.

The adult Bible class lesson from Acts will be, "Being in the will of God, doing the work of God does not exempt the believer from trials and testings."

The pastor's message during the 10:30 a.m. preaching service will be from Romans 12:1-2, "The First Duty of the True Christian to God."

First United Methodist, Norwalk

On Sunday, the church welcomes new associate pastor the Rev. Seth Auman. Auman graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary and has been pastoring at Richmond and Union Pisgah United Methodist churches outside of Attica.

Norwalk Baptist

On Sunday, this church located at the corner of U.S. 20 West and Halfway Road, just west of Norwalk Big Lots, will host a special celebration to honor Dr. Michael J. Smith and Mrs. Theresa Smith's 12th anniversary of pastoral ministry at this church. The Rev. Dr. Everett Wilson of Auburn Hills, Mich., will deliver a special message during the regular 11 a.m. worship service and subsequently an all church family potluck picnic will be held at the shelter house at Marsh Field in Monroeville. There will be no 6 p.m. service at the church.

St. Peter Lutheran, Norwalk

This church will be having regular Sunday services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. for Food Bank Sunday.

The senior youth and sponsors will be spending a week at Lakeside and will be worshipping at Hoover Auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The Lakeside family potluck will be at 6 p.m. at the youth's cottage.

Calvary Baptist, Norwalk

This church's choir will present the patriot concert "One Nation Under God" written by Randy Vadar, Jay Rouse and Camp Kirkland, and directed by Amanda Arthur. The performances will be at 10:15 a.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Wednesday. Soloists will be Becky Wearsch, John Arthur, Colleen Arthur, Katie Arthur and Janice Snyder. The children's choir will also perform with a duet by Jordan Courtad and Julia Olsen.
