Evelyn Denise Piscitelli of Norwalk has received the Therese and Alonzo Allen Book Scholarship at Bowling Green State University's Firelands College. She will receive $723 toward her books for the 2007-2008 academic year. This scholarship, established in 2002 by Conrad and Deanna Allen, is available to a full-time under-represented undergraduate who is majoring in business or education. A minimum 3.0 GPA is required, but preference should be given to students with higher GPA if all things are equal among other candidates. Prior recipients are eligible if they reapply and continue to meet all selection criteria.

Evelyn Denise Piscitelli of Norwalk has received the Therese and Alonzo Allen Book Scholarship at Bowling Green State University's Firelands College. She will receive $723 toward her books for the 2007-2008 academic year.

Piscitelli has been on the BGSU Firelands dean's list.

Piscitelli is a senior majoring in early childhood education.

She is a 1982 graduate of Kingsbury High School.

She lives with her husband, Tommaso Piscitelli, in Norwalk, and is the daughter of Elijah and Mary Echols and Memphis, Tenn.

Fredda Ann Pippin of Milan has received a scholarship intended for students majoring in elementary education at Bowling Green State University's Firelands College. She will receive $1,000 toward her tuition for the 2007-2008 academic year.

This scholarship was established in 1999 to honor the memory of former BGSU Firelands dean James H. McBride. The scholarship is available to a part-time or full-time student with a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher and who plans to major in elementary education. Two awards are given away annually.

Pippin is a 1987 graduate of Edison High School.

She is a senior, majoring in early childhood education at BGSU Firelands where she has been on the dean's list. She is the President of Firelands Ohio Student Education and will serve as student government secretary for the 2007-2008 academic year. She has also been involved in Ohio Student Education Association, NEA and Phi Delta Kappa.

She lives with her husband, Charles Pippin, and is the daughter of Paul and Bettye Bissinger.

Benjamin J. Giesecke of Collins graduated from Otterbein College on June 10, with a bachelor of science in actuarial science degree.

Benjamin is the son of Larry and Connie Giesecke of Collins.

Jessica H. Hansen, Autumn R. Purdy and Jamisyn R. Hipp, all of Norwalk, have been named to the annual dean's list at Otterbein College for the 2006-2007 academic year.

A student must carry at least 45 quarter hours during the academic year with a grade point average of at least 3.60 to qualify for the annual dean's list.

Jessica is the daughter of George Hansen of Norwalk.

Autumn is the daughter of John and Diana McCarty of Norwalk.

Jamisyn is the son of Jeffrey and Mary Ann Hipp of Norwalk.

Andrea Nicole Minich of Plymouth, graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Andrea, the daughter of Jeffrey A. Minich and Karen S. Minich of Plymouth, is a Willard High School graduate.

Autumn R. Purdy and Jamisyn R. Hipp both of Norwalk have been named to the dean's list at Otterbein College for the 2006 spring quarter.

Students must be full-time with a grade point average of at least 3.60 to qualify for the dean's list.

Autumn is the daughter of John and Diane McCarty of Norwalk.

Jamisyn is the son of Jeffrey and Mary Ann Hipp of Norwalk.

David Ott of Norwalk graduated from the University of Findlay with a master's degree in physical therapy.

Ashley M. Miller, daughter of Scott and Teresa Miller of Monroeville, received the bachelor of arts degree at the 179th commencement of Kenyon College on May 20.

Miller graduated cum laude with a major in religious studies.

Jackie Eschen graduated from Wright State University with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

She will be working at Kettering Medical Center in Kettering.

Jackie is the daughter of Randy and Diane Eschen.

Sara R. Hipp of Norwalk, was named to the John Carroll University dean's list for the spring 2007 semester.

Students eligible for the dean's list must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours within one semester and have a quality grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

Sara graduated magna cum laude in May 2007 from John Carroll University.

University of Toledo has announced the names of students on the dean's and president's lists for the 2007 spring semester.

Students named the UT's dean's list have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) during the semester, and were enrolled as a full-time student (12 or more credit hours). Students named to the president's list have earned a 4.0 grade point average.
