Support programs

Fisher-Titus Medical Center hosts the following support groups, all of which are free and open to the general public:

The Alzheimer's Support Group will meet from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. July 26. For more information call the hospital at (419) 663-1975, ext. 6379.

The Autism Spectrum Kids will not meet this month. For more information call the hospital at (419) 663-1975, ext. 3040.

The Breastfeeding Support Group will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Huron County Health Department or 7 p.m. July 17, at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. This new support group is offered in conjunction with the Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Clinic. For more information, call the WIC Clinic office at (419) 668-6855.

The Caring and Sharing Cancer Support Group will not meet this month, but for more information call the hospital at (419) 663-1975, ext. 6417.

The Diabetes Support Group will not meet this month, but for more information, call the hospital at (419) 660-2596.

The Healthy Hearts Support Group will not meet this month, but for more information, call the hospital at (419) 660-2600.

The Insulin Pumps Support Group will not meet this month, but for more information, call the hospital at (419) 660-2596.

The Juvenile Diabetes Support Group will not meet this month, but for more information call the hospital at (419) 660-2596.

The Men's Cancer Support Group- No meeting this month, but for more information, please call the hospital at (419) 663-1975, ext. 6417.

The Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. July 10. For more information call the hospital at (419) 660-2509.

The Stroke Support Group will meet from 2 to 3:30 p.m. July 26. For more information call the hospital at (419) 660-2700.

Helmets for Kids

Does your child need a new bicycle helmet? Fisher-Titus Specialty Services, 111 E. Main St., New London, will properly fit children for helmets from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday (closed for lunch from noon to 1 p.m.). For more information, call (419) 929-1027.

Children must be present to ensure proper fit. A $2 donation per helmet is requested. The helmets used by FTMC comply with the safety standards of the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and come in four sizes and a variety of colors.

Blood pressure screenings

Fisher-Titus Medical Center nurses will offer blood pressure screenings to the public in July at various locations throughout local communities.

Times and locations include:

From 10 a.m. to noon July 13 at Milan Public Library, 19 E. Church St., Milan.

From 4 to 7 p.m. July 18 at Gardner's SuperValu, 117 Whittlesey Ave., Norwalk.

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 19 at Schild's IGA, 171 Milan Ave., Norwalk.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 26 at Apples, 205 Milan Ave., Norwalk.

From 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. (closed noon to 1 p.m.) Monday to Friday at Fisher-Titus Specialty Services, 111 E. Main St., New London.

Infant and Child CPR classes

Fisher-Titus Medical Center is offering Infant and Child CPR training from 6 to 10 p.m. July 11 at the hospital, 272 Benedict Ave., Norwalk.

Participants become certified in important life-saving CPR techniques specifically for infants and children. For more information and to register call Fisher-Titus Medical Center at (419) 660-2646.
