A number of area fire departments responded to a barn fire Tuesday on Strecker Road.

“It was a barn fire that was fully engulfed when we arrived,” Groton Township Fire Chief Kerry Jett said.
“The barn was a total loss, but I don’t have a figure on that now,” he said about an estimated loss amount.
Jett said a nearby apartment was also heavily affected by the blaze, but not a total loss.
No people were injured, but a number of animals inside the barn were killed.
