Towne and Country Players, Inc. is beginning its sixth annual "Firelands Idol" Talent Competition with auditions starting at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 20 at Seybert United Methodist Church in Bellevue for ages 6 to 85.
All acts must be family-friendly, age appropriate and available to progress through all three stages of the competition. The "Idol" staff is looking to fill the following categories: Kiddie Idol (ages 6-12); Teen Idol (ages 13-19); Junior Idol (ages 20-49) and Senior Idol (ages 50-85 and older). Contestants must pre-register to audition by calling (419) 668-1641.
The second preliminary will be held in Norwalk at the St. Mary School library at 1:30 p.m. Jan. 27.
Winners of both preliminaries will progress to the semi-finals at the Edison High School Little Theatre in Milan at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 10.
The finals will be held at Edison at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 24 and the four Idols will receive their cash awards after performing at the "Another Round" concert (formerly "Straight No Chaser") at 3 p.m. March 24 at the Ernsthausen Performing Arts Center in Norwalk High School.
