The Huron County Board of Elections will meet at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday for its regular board meeting.

Board members will certify independent candidates for the November general election, and handle any other business that may come before the board.

Norwalk Councilman Dwight Tkach has withdrawn his candidacy, said Tom Gerrity, Board of Education director, and Tkach can now file as a write-in candidate. Tkach turned in his petition but did not sign the back which nullified all of the signatures.

Independent candidate Stan Obrenovich's status also will be discussed because of his affiliation with the Democratic Party.

The meeting will take place in the board office in the County Administration Building, 180 Milan Ave., Norwalk.
