A heroin defendant pleaded innocent to a felony charge Thursday in Huron County Common Pleas Court.
Katherine R. Beat, 25, of 1292 Schaffer Road, is charged with complicity to trafficking in heroin. The felony is in connection with a Nov. 10 controlled drug buy coordinated by the Norwalk Police Department.
Beat, who earlier posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bond, is subject to random drug screens. Her trial is March 19.
Also pleading innocent Thursday:
** Jeffrey P. Gibson, 37, of 2 E. Main St., Greenwich, on one count each of breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools, both in connection with a Nov. 14 incident. His trial date is March 21. Gibson is out, having earlier posted 10 percent of a $5,000 bond.
** Todd A. McCallister, 20, of Wellington, on two forgery charges and one count each of theft of checks and theft of a credit card, all in connection with a Nov. 29 incident. The former New London resident earlier posted a $5,000 bond. His trial is set for March 19.
