Local 14-year-old boy hit by car

A Norwalk boy was listed in good condition this morning at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after being hit by a sport-utility vehicle Wednesday. Bobby Harp, 14, of 67 Spino Court, was walking along the edge of Grove Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Darin L. Case, 40, of 4903 Prospect Road, New London, struck Harp.

A Norwalk boy was listed in good condition this morning at Fisher-Titus Medical Center after being hit by a sport-utility vehicle Wednesday.

Bobby Harp, 14, of 67 Spino Court, was walking along the edge of Grove Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when a 2001 Ford Explorer driven by Darin L. Case, 40, of 4903 Prospect Road, New London, struck Harp.

Police reported the impact catapulted Harp up on to a grassy area.

No citations have been issued. The accident occurred shortly after a power outage began in that area.

The Norwalk Fire Department responded to the scene, as did North Central EMS.

Norwalk Police Chief Kevin Cashen said this morning the incident still is under investigation.
