A woman whom a passing motorist saw shooting up heroin in front of Norwalk mobile home park office has been sentenced for trying to swallow pills during a police investigation.
Justina M. Hall, 25, of 1471 Crescent Road, Greenwich, was ordered Wednesday in Huron County Common Pleas Court to spend four to six months in a community-based corrections facility (CBCF), a form of prison which focuses on substance abuse treatment and education.
Judge Jim Conway also fined Hall $250 as part of her three years of probation.
Norwalk police officers received a call Sept. 21 about someone seeing Hall shooting heroin in front of a mobile home park. The passing driver reported Hall was on the steps of the Milan Avenue office, sitting with a syringe to her arm.
"(Officers) found Ms. Hall in an intoxicated condition," Huron County Prosecutor Russell Leffler said during Hall's guilty plea hearing.
"Her purse was brought out. She tried to lunge for some pills and tried to swallow them."
In October, she pleaded guilty to attempted tampering with evidence.
Detective Sgt. Jim Fulton said Hall has been involved with heroin "for a while."
"Her name has come up," Fulton added.
If Hall violates her probation, she faces 18 months in prison.

I feel bad for her maternal grandmother. That program has become a joke.
When do we ever hear of a successful story, of someone that completes the program and turns their life around?
