A Sandusky biker has been charged with failure to control in connection with an injury crash last month.

Thomas L. Leal, 23, was driving a 2012 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Lovers Lane Road at 6:46 p.m. Nov. 30.

He failed to negotiate a curve, lost control and his bike began to slide, said Trooper Matthew Gramlich, of the state Highway Patrol. Leal hit a guardrail and then slid down an embankment.

A LifeFlight helicopter flew Leal from the scene to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, where he initially was listed in critical condition. He recovered and eventually was released.

Troopers said Leal was wearing his helmet and alcohol wasn't suspected of being a factor in the crash.
