John C. Cook, a Vietnam War Veteran, recently received the Department Marine of the Year Award for 2006 in recognition of his community. He is a member of the Elton Mackin Detachment, Marine Corps League. Cook was honored for his continuous activities and services such as Marine Rose Program, Toys for Tots, and his participation on the Huron County Veterans Service Commission and the Huron County Veterans Council. It is the highest award presented to a Marine Corps League member.

John C. Cook, a Vietnam War Veteran, recently received the Department Marine of the Year Award for 2006 in recognition of his community.

He is a member of the Elton Mackin Detachment, Marine Corps League.

Cook was honored for his continuous activities and services such as Marine Rose Program, Toys for Tots, and his participation on the Huron County Veterans Service Commission and the Huron County Veterans Council.

It is the highest award presented to a Marine Corps League member.

Cook has held every office in his department and is currently the Ohio North West Division Vice Commandant.

He currently lives with his wife, Kathy, in North Fairfield.
